Yuzvendra Chahal last played for the Indian Cricket Team in 2023.

Indian Cricket Team spinner Yuzvendra Chahal got divorced from Dhanashree Verma in March last year. The couple tied the knot in 2020 but filed a petition for divorce in June 2022. Since last year, Chahal was seen in public with RJ Mahvash.

The two were first seen together during ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Mahvash, a radio jockey and content creator, was also seen attending Punjab Kings (PBKS) games during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Chahal, who was part of PBKS, got a special support from Mahvash, who was seen cheering for him from the stands. With them being seen together in public multiple times, rumours related to their dating became a talk of the town. The right-arm spinner was also teased about his Instagram posts with the RJ during an episode of The Great Kapil Sharma Show on Netflix.

Notably, both Chahal and Mahvash have unfollowed each other on the social media platform Instagram. Their action has fueled further speculation, and fans are confused and waiting for any hints about the incident.

It has also sparked rumours of their breakup. However, Chahal has always denied rumours of a relationship with Mahvash and termed her only a close friend.

In an earlier podcast with Raj Shamani, Chahal had said, “It happened for the first time that I was seen with someone in public, so people started speculating. We can’t start crying, if people link us up, then so be it.”

He had also revealed how fans blamed Mahvash for Chahal’s divorce and slammed her with negative comments on social media.

“She was called a house-breaker, homewrecker, and all sorts of bad names. People kept asking why she was with Yuzi. I felt bad that a friend who helped me get through a tough phase was being dragged into this,” Chahad had said.

“Even when we were out with a group of friends, only our cropped photos were used. Eventually, we stopped going out because we feared another story would pop up,” he added.

Mahvash had also denied dating rumours with Chahal in her Instagram story, saying, “If you are seen with someone of the opposite gender, does that automatically mean you’re dating? I’m sorry, what year is this? And how many people are you all dating then?”

“I’ve been patient for 2–3 days, but I won’t let any PR teams drag my name into this to protect someone else’s image. Let people live in peace with their friends and family during tough times,” she added.

Meanwhile, Chahal last played for the Indian Cricket Team in 2023. Last year, he was part of the Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS squad in IPL 2025 that finished as runners-up in the tournament. With 16 wickets, he was the joint second-highest wicket-taker for the side and played a key role in the team’s entry into the playoffs after 10 seasons.

In November, Chahal played for his domestic team Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025. Playing three matches for the team, he clinched four wickets. His team reached the final of the tournament, where they lost against Jharkhand.
