IPL 2026: Yuzvendra Chahal caught vaping on flight? Viral video of PBKS star sparks controversy

Yuzvendra Chahal is leading the Punjab Kings’ spin attack in IPL 2026.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) have shown a brilliant form in the Indian Premier League 2026 and are among the favourites to qualify for the playoffs. Recently, they suffered three consecutive defeats but still placed second in the points table with 13 points.

Yuzvendra Chahal is leading PBKS’s spin attack in IPL 2026. With eight wickets in 10 games at an economy of 9.53, he is the third-highest wicket-taker for the side. He also clinched a three-wicket haul in one game and has been part of the playing XI in all matches so far.

Amid his impressive stint in IPL 2026, Chahal has landed in a major controversy after a video of him using an e-cigarette on a flight is going viral on social media. He was caught vaping during the Punjab Kings‘ flight to Hyderabad ahead of their clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 6.

Notably, PBKS spinner Arshdeep Singh shared a 16-minute-long vlog on his YouTube channel, in which he was seen chatting with his teammates inside a flight from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad.

During the video, Chahal was sitting next to Shashank Singh and was secretly lighting and hiding a smoking object- like a vape or e-cigarette.

The netizens were quick to notice the event and shared the video and screenshots of his act on social media. Many fans slammed him for putting the flight at risk by smoking.

A few others also questioned how he was allowed to carry an e-cigarette on a flight, as such items are banned inside an aircraft.

Recently, during the IPL match against PBKS at Mullanpur Stadium, Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag was caught on live broadcast using a vape in the dressing room. The incident became a talk of the town, and Parag was penalised by the BCCI for the act.

BCCI fined him 25 per cent of his match fee and one demerit point for a breach of the Code of Conduct (Article 2.21: bringing the game into disrepute) at Level 1.
