Commonwealth Games 2026: Full list of Indian contingent & sport-wise entries for Glasgow CWG

India’s 125-member contingent includes several top stars.
The Commonwealth Games 2026 will begin on July 23 and run until August 2. The event will feature 10 sporting events, including six integrated Para sports, and will be held in four stadiums in Glasgow, Scotland. About 3,000 athletes will compete, representing 74 countries, for 215 gold medals.
India to field 125-member contingent
This reduced schedule means many sports that have helped India maintain a strong medal tally are not part of this edition.
Even so, India will send a 125-member contingent to compete in athletics, artistic gymnastics, boxing, judo, lawn bowls, swimming, track cycling, weightlifting, and other para sports.
A pared-down Games after hosting a crisis
The Commonwealth Games 2026 appear smaller due to the hosting crisis, which altered the tournament’s original plans.
This tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Victoria, Australia, but Victoria withdrew as host in July 2023 due to higher projected costs.
Glasgow became a compact model, aiming to reduce operational and financial risks by using existing facilities rather than building a conventional citywide Games stadium.
India had sent 215 athletes to Birmingham 2022
India fielded 215 athletes during the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The Indian contingent consisted of 108 men and 107 women and competed in 116 sporting events.
Neeraj Chopra leads India’s athletics squad

Star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will lead a 32-member athletics team, the largest Indian contingent across all sporting disciplines. Apart from Chopra, the athletics team includes star names such as Parul Chaudhary, Murali Sreeshankar, and Tajinderpal Singh Toor.
