The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been on the cover of previously editions

After an association of nearly 30 years with FIFA, EA Sports will launch their own brand's football video game EA Sports FC, with a release date approximately in September or October.

Here's a look at the global footballing superstars who could have themselves starring in the global football video game, for the upcoming edition of the EA Sports venture:

Kylian Mbappe

The Global cover athlete for FIFA 23, as well as the highest-rated player in the game, Kylian Mbappe is truly a global superstar. Already a World Cup winner in 2018 with France and a golden boot winner in the recently concluded World Cup in Qatar, in 2022, the PSG star is almost a sure shot choice to become the cover athlete of EA Sports FC France for the first time, but a third consecutive time in a row, after appearing so in FIFA 22 and 23 respectively.

Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham's star has continued to rise and it's shining brightly with the summer of 2023 approaching as he's the most in-demand football player on the planet currently. His club Borussia Dortmund are rumoured to be expecting £120 million or more for acquiring him, with clubs such as Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City in front of the queue to acquire his services. He's already the ambassador for the FIFA 23 franchise, and given his tender age of 19, his on-pitch performances will reflect in more off-the-field opportunities including being among the runners for the EA Sports FC Cover star (regionally).

The Brazilian winger is also an EA Sports FC ambassador with his full profile well replicated in the current year's video game. He's gone on to achieve more success including a Champions League and LaLiga trophy to show for in 2023, where he played an instrumental part. His dazzling on-ball skills, speed and unpredictability in his off-ball movement is a sight to behold and is amongst the most exciting football player to watch besides the likes of Mbappe and Messi. He could well be within a shout of making it on the cover of the new EA Sports FC franchise.

Hueng Min Son

The Korean superstar is probably the most recognisable face amongst the array of football stars across the globe. He's the most popular celebrity in his home country of Korea, after the popular Korean band BTS. He's already an ambassador for the EA Sports FC video game and with a social media following of 11.9M on Instagram & and his association with fashion brand Burberry, where he was announced as the Brand Ambassador, might be a contender for the next year's video game edition also.

Sam Kerr

The Australian star is already on the Global cover for FIFA 23 alongside PSG's Kylian Mbappe. This was the first time a female athlete has featured on the cover of a video game. Kerr will look to emulate herself yet again this year in EA Sports FC's new and rebranded football video game, since their split from FIFA. Her star continues to grow as the captain of the Australia women’s national team. She'll also look to add more honour to her fear of being the only female player to have won the Golden Boot in three different leagues and on three different continents.

David Beckham (Legend's edition cover)

Well, the legend edition of the EA Sports FC calls for a legendary player to be the cover of the game. David Beckham has already featured since FIFA 20 and could be amongst the favourites to be the new Legends edition cover star, since sealing a deal for three years worth £40 million to become the official ambassador for EA Sports and FIFA 21, back in 2021.
