Team India will compete in eight sports.

The FISU World University Games 2025 will take place from July 16 to 27 in Germany. The 12-day competition will feature over 10,000 athletes from more than 150 countries competing for top honours. A total of 18 sports and 234 medal events are scheduled to be held in the upcoming edition of the FISU World University Games.

India will have over 300 athletes from over 60 universities compete in eight sports in the 2025 edition of the event. They had a great outing in the last edition, finishing seventh in the medal tally with a total of 27 medals—which included 11 gold, five silver, and 10 bronze in the Chengdu 2023 edition.

Animesh Kujur, Praveen Chithravel, Jeswin Aldrin, and Ankita Dhyani will be among the top Indian players to watch out for in athletics. Meanwhile, young table tennis players Taneesha Kotecha and Pritha Vartikar will also be in action in Germany.

India will compete in Athletics, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball, Tennis, and two other sports. The Asian nation will aim for its best-ever finish as it looks to surpass the previous edition’s medal count of 27.
