These camps are seen as alternatives to arrests and jail time for drinkers.

Qatar has announced they will be setting sober zones for fans. Ever since the day Qatar has been announced as the host of the 2022 World Cup, there has been a big debate over Qatar's culture conflicting with football fans' culture. Qatar is an Islamic country that has many restrictions on alcohol and parties. But these are the main attractions of any football carnival.

From the start, the organizers assured fans they would keep these things in mind and not compromise on their experience. They have already announced slowing restrictions on alcohol consumption and public drinking. Also gave the go-ahead to alcohol fan parks.

Qatar to set up sober zones for fans

The Organisers have been trying to find a balance between Qatari culture and fans' expectations to make the World Cup successful. Following the announcement of the relaxation of alcohol sales, there was a heated debate over compromising with Islamic sentiments.

In accordance with Islamic traditions, Qatar's World Cup chief Nasser Al Khater has recently announced there would be special zones for regulating public drinking and fan safety. Fans can recuperate after excessive drinking in these Sober up tents.

Qatar's World Cup Chief said, "I know that there are plans in place for people to sober up if ... they've been drinking excessively,"  then added on sober camps, "It's a place to make sure that they keep themselves safe, they're not harmful to anybody else."

There would be some restrictions on the sale of Alcohol in stadiums

The one of main concerns for most of the fans travelling to Qatar for the World Cup was laws about alcohol. The organizers have already announced that they will be allowing fans to drink alcohol in designated fan parks and places. But as per developments, the alcohol in stadiums would be available from three hours before the kickoff and one hour after the final whistle. But surprisingly not during the match.

Homosexual fans will be welcomed assured Qatar's World Cup Chief

Homosexuality is considered illegal in Qatar as it is against the Islamic culture which has raised a big question mark over the treatment of homosexual fans during the tournament. But the Al Khater again assured that everyone is welcome for the World Cup.

He said, "Everybody is welcome here and everybody will feel safe when they come to Qatar,". But he also asked fans to respect their culture and not harm others.

He added, "All we ask is for people to be respectful of the culture, at the end of the day, as long as you don't do anything that harms other people, if you're not destroying public property, as long as you're behaving in a way that's not harmful, then everybody's welcome and you have nothing to worry about."
