Trevor Chalobah also suffered his first defeat for Chelsea.

Liverpool and Virgil van Dijk was once again put to the test at Anfield, as the club endured their second consecutive Premier League defeat. Ceysencio Summerville's last-gasp goal assured a narrow victory over Liverpool at Anfield, halting the Liverpool defender's 70-match undefeated streak.

Van Dijk has never lost a home game since joining Liverpool, but a 2-1 setback to Liverpool marks the Dutch defender's first loss in five years, snapping his 70-match unbeaten streak.

Leeds United needed a win to raise the spirit and conviction of their players, and they merited one when Rodrigo put Jesse Marsch's team ahead, but Salah restored parity by stroking the ball into an empty net. It seemed that both clubs would share the point, but Summerville's late goal guaranteed that Leeds took control of Liverpool's ineptitude. This was Liverpool's fourth Premier League loss of the 2022-23 season, and Virgil van Dijk, who signed from Southampton in 2018, saw his 70-match unbeaten streak at Anfield come to an end.

Trevoh Chalobah's streak also comes to an end.

Graham Potter travelled to his former club Brighton but returned empty-handed as he experienced his first defeat as Chelsea manager. Brighton was in inspired form and suffered the Blues' biggest defeat.

Chelsea was less proactive from the beginning to the end and was punished for complacency. Chelsea felt they were on their way to another win under the former Brighton manager, but own goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Trevoh Chalobah summed up the match drama. Leandro Trossard and Pascal Grob added to Chelsea's misery, while Kai Havertz scored a consolation goal.

The defeat also confirms that Chalobah, who joined Chelsea in 2020, has suffered his first defeat for the club. The Blues had never lost any of the 32 games Chalobah had played in; however, this record was broken on Saturday against Brighton, and what's more poetic is that Graham Potter's first setback as Chelsea manager came against his former side.
