Mehtab Singh, Nandhakumar lead ISL 2022-23 Team of the Week for GW 4

Hugo Boumous was also among the top performers with a goal in the Kolkata Derby.
Des Buckingham's Mumbai City FC continued their unbeaten run in the 2022-23 Indian Super League with a handsome win over Kerala Blasters. That they also kept a clean-sheet and the opening goal came from a centre-back means the Islanders dominate out latest Team of the Week for ISL 2022-23 gameweek 4.
NorthEast United are yet to register a point this season and their winless run makes them the last boy in the league table. At the opposite end, Hyderabad FC are a point clear at the top of and one of two sides without a defeat so far. ATK Mohun Bagan, FC Goa, Jamshedpur FC and Chennayin FC are teams who have played only three matches, the remaining have already played four.
This week also witnessed first Kolkata Derby of ISL 2022-23 season. In another first, this derby also witnessed the return of fans to the venue and they returned in huge numbers, a total of 62,540 watched the clash at the Salt Lake Stadium. However, there was no such first in the outcome as Juan Ferrando's men marched to a fifth consecutive derby win in the ISL.
Let's take a look at the ISL 2022-23 Gameweek 4 Team of the Week.
GK: Phurba Lachenpa (Mumbai City)
The Mumbai City goalkeeper was at the peak of his confidence against Kerala Blasters. Down by two goals before half-time, Kerala Blasters came hard at the Islanders' defence. And although at times they managed to breach the Mumbai City defence, Lachenpa would not be beaten on the night.
He kept out Sahal Samad's strike from a tight angle and punched away Adrian Luna's free kick minutes later. Sahal and Dimitrios Diamantakos were both decent and did threaten the opposition back line, but ultimately couldn't get past Lachenpa.
RB: Rahul Bheke (Mumbai City)
Bheke was exceptional throughout the clash against Kerala Blasters. He put in a robust performance with a couple of successful tackles, three clearances along with five interceptions. He also ended the game with a shot on target.
CB: Mehtab Singh (Mumbai City)
Mehtab Singh became the first ever Indian to win three consecutive Man of the Match awards for his stunning defensive display along with a goal. Defensively, Mehtab kept his lines clean by making six whopping clearances and formed an able partnership with Roston Griffiths at the center of the defence. His biggest contribution though was the goal against Kerala Blasters, a thunderous strike from the edge of he box.
CB: Peter Hartley (Jamshedpur FC)
Skipper Peter Hartley showed an astounding performance in the match against NorthEast United. It was his goal that led Jamshedpur FC to their first win of the season. Hartley made 60 touches on the ball with 41 passes, highest in his side. The skipper also showed great defensive display with one clearance, one successful tackle. He also made one successful interception.
LB: Subhasish Bose (ATK Mohun Bagan)
Subhasis Bose showed a rock-solid defensive display in the Kolkata Derby. Since it was played for the first time in Kolkata in the presence of the fans, Bose performed really well to nullify the threats coming from Aniket Jadav and VP Suhair. Bose made six clearances in the derby. The left-back also made two blocks and two interceptions on the left.
DM: Saul Crespo (Odisha FC)
Saul Crespo was the midfield magician in Odisha FC's win over Bengaluru FC. His consistent, impressive role in midfield was pivotal in Odisha FC winning a second consecutive match. Saul made seven clearances, four successful tackles, and blocked two shots. In attack, he also created three chances deep from midfield.
CM: Lalengmawia 'Apuia' Ralte (Mumbai City)
Apuia was on top of his skills for the Islanders. He acted as a double trouble for the Blasters. The youngster showed a balancing performance in defence as well as attack. He made a couple of clearances and created two goal-scoring opportunities. Defensively, he made five successful tackles to hold the Blasters from penetrating through the defence.

RW: Manvir Singh (ATK Mohun Bagan)
Manvir Singh yet again scored in the Kolkata Derby. Singh also scripted history, becoming the first to score in the season's first Kolkata Derby for last three seasons. Singh was electrifying in the right wing. His consistent counter-attacks just neutralized East Bengal's defence and he doubled the lead to win the Derby again.
The goal came through a lucky deflection, but Manvir was at the right place in the right time to put the Mariners ahead in an important clash.
CAM: Hugo Boumous (ATK Mohun Bagan)
The French-Moroccan again proved his brilliance. This time in the Kolkata Derby. All the opponent players and we're getting waltzed by his spark. In that Derby, Hugo was in hot form creating six goal-scoring opportunities and finding free space for his teammates. East Bengal defenders could do nothing to stop him.
LW: Nandhakumar (Odisha FC)
Nandhakumar showed a lethal performance in the match against Bengaluru FC. He kept firing on the left flank and found the back of the net with a stunning strike to win the Match. In the whole match, he was the standout performer and showed an all-round performance by taking three shots on target. Defensively, he made two successful interceptions.
ST: Javier Siverio (Hyderabad FC)
Hyderabad FC's Spanish striker Javier Siverio scored the only goal in the match against Goa to continue their unbeaten run and climb to the top of the league table. In the minute, his clinical finish made all the differences between the two teams. Ogbeche heads a throw in onto the way of rushing Javier Siverio and his expert left-footed shot nets the ball into the bottom left corner.
