The Indomitable Lions returns to the biggest stage after eight long years.
Cameroon will take part in its eighth World Cup campaign after missing the previous edition in Russia. They booked their ticket to Qatar after seeing off Algeria in the qualification play-offs, with Karl Toko Ekambi emerging as a hero for his side with the match-winner in the dying seconds.
In 1990, Cameroon became the first African team to make the quarterfinals of the World Cup. At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they are placed in Group G alongside Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland.
The Indomitable Lions’ best hope is to take points from games against Switzerland and Serbia and hope that Brazil is already through by the time they meet them in the group finale, as they have a poor record against the five-time world champions. Cameroon have plenty of experience in their World Cup squad, though, and will be hoping to spring a surprise come November.
