Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min has been named in the squad.

After breaking his eye socket in Tottenham Hotspur's UEFA Champions League encounter last week, there were doubts if Heung-Min Son would be able to compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. However, Song confirmed days later on his Instagram page that he will participate in Qatar. South Korea head coach Paulo Bento has now named a formidable squad led by Son for the World Cup in Qatar.

South Korea will be appearing in the World Cup finals for the 10th time in a row. The Asian giants staged a major surprise at the 2018 World Cup by eliminating defending champions Germany 2-0.

The clash now called "The Miracle on Kazan" is one of the most memorable wins in South Korea's history, although the Asian giants finished third in the group stages and could not make it to the knockout stages despite upsetting Germany.

They will be among the underdogs in the Qatar World Cup. The team has pulled off numerous shocks in the past. With Son fit, he may be a formidable foe.

On the other hand, South Korea are in a difficult group that includes Uruguay, Portugal, and Ghana. The Asian powerhouse will open its World Cup campaign in Group H against Uruguay.
