The 21-year-old has been impressive ever since his move from River Plate to Benfica. He has been in red-hot form in recent months. Fernandez emerged as a huge prospect for the future while playing for River Plate back in Argentina. He joined Benfica for a fee of €12 million in the summer transfer window of 2022. The young central midfielder has proved his mettle in Liga Portugal while playing for Benfica. His performances have resulted in a call-up to the national team for the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
