02:00 PM IST: Welcome to the live blog of the FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage match between Cameroon vs Serbia.

The World Cup group stage is slowly moving towards its end game. Many teams are finding themselves on very thin ice, including Cameroon and Serbia. Both teams lost their opening game by a very narrow margin and will now play a virtual knockout match. In a very close encounter, Switzerland edged out Cameroon while Serbia lost to Brazil in their opening clashes.

Both teams might consider them very unfortunate in the first game but this time, there’s no room for any mistakes. Serbia came into the tournament with huge wins at their back but needs to step up their game. In addition, Cameroon will hope to improve on their performance from the last match and give that extra effort in attack to win.

Cameroon form (all comps): L-L-D-D-L

Serbia form (all comps): D-W-W-W-L

Players to Watch

Andre Anguissa

Cameroon have not won in their last five games. They need to pull the strings to rejuvenate their campaign and Anguissa is their biggest hope. Napoli midfielder Anguissa has two goals and three assists so far in Serie A. He needs replicate his form with national team to help Cameroon come back on right track.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Serbia were outdone by Richarlison’s brace in the first game. They have arrived at this tournament with a huge tag of underdogs and Savic is the crucial player of their success. The Lazio star man plays a pivotal role in both attack and defense and against Cameroon, he needs to go all guns blazing. He had an average outing against Brazil and would look to improve hugely from that game.

Team News

Cameroon are likely to be without their first team midfielder Olivier Ntcham who is ruled out of remaining group games due to recent injury.

Serbia missed their key names Vlahovic and Kostic in their first clash but now are likely to get some boost in their attack. Vlahovic is expected to start alongside Mitrovic after passing the fitness test. Although Kostic is still doubtful for the game.

Head to Head record

Serbia leads the head-to-head contest against Cameroon. Although both nations have met only once before which was in 2010
