Netherlands vs Qatar: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head
This fixture kicks off Matchday 3 of FIFA World Cup 2022
Netherlands are on the cusp of qualifying for the round of 16. They could've qualified during their last encounter against Ecuador but Valencia's equalizer spoiled their early celebration. They will be facing hosts Qatar who are already out of the tournament after losing their both encounters. The match might be a dead rubber for Qatar but they can create big problems for the Netherlands.
Netherlands has looked all compact in the both outings so far. Although they conceded against run of play against Ecuador but overall they were a tough defense to break. Although their attack is still a small area of concern but so far Cody Gakpo has been sensational for them in attack.
Kick off: 8:30pm (IST), 15:00 (GMT)
Netherlands form (all comps): W-W-W-W-D
Qatar form (all comps): W-W-W-L-L
Players to Watch
Cody Gakpo
Cody Gakpo has been the rising sensation of this World Cup. He has scored in both of the matches so far and looks really hungry going forward. The PSV attacker gives Van Gaal the big edge in the attack and so far his partnership with Steven Bergwijn has been a really tough challenge for defenders.
Assim Madibo
Assim Madibo has been Qatar's best player in the both matches so far. Although his team has lost both matches, he has been the lone shining light for them. Madibo currently plays for Al-Duhail SC and might look to give another solid performance to lure any club from Europe.
Team News
Memphis Depay is yet to start in the tournament and might play a big role in this clash after reportedly recovering from injury.
Qatar doesn't have any injury concerns in their camp but might shuffle as they go into their last match of the campaign.
