Alvaro Vazquez got his first goal of the season after six appearances.

FC Goa took full advantage of the sending-off of Nandhakumar Sekar to register a dominating 3-0 win over Odisha FC at Fatorda on Saturday. If the first half belonged to Odisha FC, the second half clearly tilted toward FC Goa during which they scored all three goals. Nandha saw a second yellow card in the 69th minute, after which three different players from the Gaurs netted the ball home to seal the game.

In light of these, let us take a look at how the players of the two teams fared.

FC Goa (By Tarkesh Jha)

Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem - 6

Dheeraj saved a couple of shots, caught a few deliveries that came on to the box but was barely tested by the Odisha FC attackers and that helped Goa keep a clean sheet in this game.

Seriton Fernandes - 6

Seriton crossed once, made five tackles and four clearances to round up an all-round performance for the team.

Fares Arnaout - 6

The central defender helped tremendously in the build-up, with an 83 per cent passing accuracy and supported that with five tackles, three interceptions and a couple of clearances as well.

Anwar Ali - 7

Anwar tackled once, made seven clearances and kept an 87 per cent passing accuracy to clock in a convincing performance at the back.

Aibanha Dohling - 5

Dohling made two tackles along with an interception and a clearance each. However, he couldn't put in any notable contributions in attack for the team.

Glan Martins - 6

Martins took two shots at goal and tackled six times as he was quite industrious whilst operating from the heart of the midfield.

Ayush Chhetri - 6

Chhetri made nine tackles, four successful interceptions and circulated the ball well with an 85 per cent passing accuracy.

Redeem Tlang - 4

The winger's play lacked tooth and enough bite on the night and it culminated with him being hauled off at half time.

Iker Guarrotxena - 6

Iker's passing was a tad erratic but he played a substantial role near the final third and participated constructively during the entire build-up process.

Brandon Fernandes - 6

Brandon created three goal-scoring chances as he initiated most of Goa's attacks and showed a sharp eye whilst distributing the ball across the frontline.

Noah Wail Sadaoui - 8.5

Noah scored a goal and assisted the two others that Goa notched to put in perhaps his most comprehensive and fine-tuned performance of the season. The dynamic forward could hardly put a foot wrong this evening. However, he missed a glorious opportunity in the first half.

Substitutes

Alvaro Vazquez - 7

Alvaro's introduction certainly added some more direction and incisiveness in Goa's attacking moves. He took three shots at goal and one of them landed in the back of the net in the 90th minute.

Brison Fernandes - 7

Brison made an instant impact off the bench as he pounced upon one of Noah's balls immediately upon being introduced to the game to break the deadlock and set off Goa's subsequent goal-fest.

Makan Winkle Chothe - N/A

Devendra Murgaonkar - N/A

Leander D'Cunha - N/A

Odisha FC (By Souvari Paul)

Amrinder Singh - 5.0

It was a tough day for Amrinder as he conceded thrice. But the main reason behind Goa’s three goals was Odisha playing with ten men after Nandha saw a red card. Overall, Amrinder faced four shots on target and saved only one. Moreover, he made only one clearance and caught one ball.

Narender Gahlot - 7.0

Gahlot looked lively on the right side of Odisha’s defence with 70 touches. He tried his best to aid Odisha’s attacks whereby he took one shot and put in a cross. In defence, he made two successful tackles, two successful interceptions, and blocked one shot.

Osama Malik - 6.5

With 55 passes and 39 touches, Osama Malik played decently. He aided in creating one chance. He also made three successful tackles and three clearances.

Carlos Delgado - 5.0

Delgado would like to forget today’s game as he made only two clearances and one successful interception throughout. As we can see from the scoreline, this was not enough to prevent FC Goa from scoring.

Lalruatthara - 5.5

Lalruatthara had a bad game. FC Goa scored all their goals after Lalruatthara was subbed off, so Goa scoring thrice is not on him. But still, he could not provide anything meaningful throughout the time he was on the pitch.

Raynier Fernandes - 7.5

Raynier was lively on a bad day for Odisha FC in which he took one shot and created one chance before he was subbed off in the 69th minute. He had 41 touches and made 24 passes during this time. In the first half, his performance was quite impressive.

Saúl Crespo - 7.0

Crespo was not able to play in the manner in which he played in his previous game. But still he was one of the better players for Odisha. He had 47 touches, took two shots, put in two crosses, and made 26 passes in 60 minutes. He aided defensively by making one successful tackle and a clearance.

Thoiba Singh - 6.0

Thoiba looked very sharp in the first half during which he made some good runs and sleek passes. However, like the whole team, his performance deteriorated in the second half.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga - 6.5

Jerry looked good in the first half. However, after Nandha’s red card, the midfield supply line went dry. Overall, he made good runs and looked threatening in many instances. He had 46 touches in total and made 24 passes. He also put in three crosses throughout the game.

Pedro Martin - 5.5

Pedro started the game today but did not look threatening. Even though he played for 69 minutes, apart from creating a chance, he could not contribute in any significant manner.

Nandhakumar Sekar - 5.0

Even though Nandha came very close to scoring in the first half, it was his seeing a red card that made life difficult for Odisha FC. He should have shown more composure while making the tackle that got him the second yellow of the game.

Substitutes

Denechandra Meitei - 4.0

Denechandra was on the pitch for around 36 minutes. But it was a very bad 36 minutes for him as he saw his team concede three goals during this time, without him being able to make any significant contribution.

Victor Rodriguez - 4.0

Victor came on as a sub for Saul Crespo in the 60th minute. His performance in the remaining 30 minutes was quite poor as FC Goa dominated the entirety of this time without giving any Odisha player any chance to make an impact.

Isaac Vanmalsawma - 4.5

Isaac could not do anything to change the game’s course as his team struggled with 10 men. He was on the pitch for around 21 minutes and in this period, he was not able to impact the proceedings.

Diego Mauricio - 4.0

It was a poor outing for Mauricio today as he came on the pitch after his team went a man down. Consequently, the midfield could not supply him with any ball to make any significant contribution to the game.
