The NorthEast United head coach also spoke about the current atmosphere inside the camp.

The stakes will get bigger from here on for NorthEast United as they make a trip to Hyderabad to face the defending champions. The Nizams are on the top of their game and come into the fixture on the back of three back to back wins. The Highlanders on the other hand will be keen to build on their newly found confidence under their new head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese.

Ahead of their next game, the head coach and left back Tondonba Singh addressed the media. Here’s what they said.

Mood in the camp

NorthEast United clinched their first win of the season in their previous game. The head coach was asked about the mood in the camp following their win. He said that the team is motivated to work harder and improve.

“We are motivated because this win creates a positive mind for the guys and gives us hope for the future. We need to continue to work harder and try to reach that level to compete not just at home, but also away from home,” he asserted.

Thoughts on Hyderabad FC

Vincenzo Alberto Annese then shared his thoughts on Hyderabad FC. He said that they are one of the best teams in the league and have everything that it takes to win the title.

“They have a very good coach and are one of the best teams in the league. They have very good players and have everything to win the title. We need to focus on ourselves and we can be very dangerous for Hyderabad FC.

He further went on to share a few words on his side’s preparation going into the next game. He said, “We had two days to prepare for this game and I can say that we need to be organised and ready for any situation during the game. We are in a good spirit and can improve in each detail that can make the difference.”

Progress so far

It hasn’t been long since the Italian head coach has come into the scene at NorthEast United. He shared his views on the progress of the team under him so far and said, “I’m never happy with myself. I need to be better and improve at a better level and I love difficult challenges. And I’m here to improve myself and the team. I believe in these guys so much and step by step we can do a lot.”
