Jamshedpur FC part ways with Welligton Priori by mutual consent
The midfielder featured in six games this season for the Men of Steel.
Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 Shield winners Jamshedpur FC have announced a formal separation with Wellington Priori. The 32-year-old re-joined the outfit on 2nd August 2022 and leaves after merely three months in the second spell with the Men of Steel.
The Brazilian joined the ISL after signing for NorthEast United on 3rd August 2016. He later signed for Jamshedpur FC in January 2018, which was his first spell with the club. The midfielder got three goals and one assist in nine appearances that season for the team.
Now, the ISL outfit and the player have decided to mutually part ways and terminate his current contract with the club. Rafael Crivellaro’s arrival from Chennaiyin FC to Jamshedpur is perhaps the deciding factor behind this decision or vice-versa.

A short spell
Wellington Priori only made six appearances for Jamshedpur FC during the ISL 2022-23 season. During this time, he did not make any goal contributions. His form symbolised JFC’s poor start to the season where they have lost six of their first eight matches.
He played 357 minutes of football for the Men of Steel but could not improve their results. Aidy Boothroyd has a huge task ahead of him. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the team to collect points in a season where they were supposed to be contenders and retain their title. Last year’s success led to bigger expectations this year and it is a burden that the club is trembling under.
Rafael Crivellaro’s arrival could be a huge boost for the side that is looking for inspiration in the final third. An overhaul in the foreign contingent could be in the offing as the club looks to set things right and get the season on the right track. As for Wellington Priori, he is now a free agent and could generate interest from other ISL clubs that are looking for a versatile attack-minded midfielder.
