Both the nations have a long history of animosity, and this will be the third time they meet in a FIFA World Cup match at Al Bayt Stadium.

Both are storied nations brimming with qualities, but France have much more trophies. These two countries have never had a healthy bond, both on and off the field, due to difficulties such as politics and other factors.
