Hello and welcome to the live blog for the FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage game between Canada and Morocco.
Morocco have emerged as the biggest surprise of the World Cup 2022. They dismantled Belgium in last game and are now the favourites to advance from Group F. On the other hand, Canada will have different intentions coming into this contest. They are already out of the knockout race despite showing spirited performances in both games so far.
Canada took an early lead against Croatia in the last game but failed to capitalize on the early advantage. They will be hoping to give their best game performances in this game to end the tournament on a higher note. Belgium will also keep a close eye on this race
Kick off: 8:30pm (IST), 15:00 (GMT)
Canada form (all comps): L-D-W-L-L
Morocco form (all comps): W-D-W-D-W
Players to Watch
Hakim Ziyech
Hakim Ziyech has been an integral member of Morocco’s success in this campaign. He provided an assist in the last game and looked really breathtaking on breaks. Ziyech has a point to prove at the World Cup after being outcast in Chelsea‘s lineup and so far, he has been sublime to watch.
Jonathan David
Jonathan David is the main talisman for Canada in attack. The Lille attacker came into the tournament on backoff lethal club form with nine goals from 15 appearances. However, he has failed to replicate form into the mega event. The final game against Morocco can break his deadlock in the World Cup.
Team News
Atiba Hutchinson is unlikely to start against Morocco after reportedly picking up an injury in training.
Yassine Bounou missed the last match and is likely to again miss the clash against Morocco. Mazraoui has passed the fitness test and is likely to start against Canada.
