The tactician had a memorable spell in Indian football as the head coach of the Blues.

Former Bengaluru FC head coach Carles Cuadrat has signed for Danish club FC Midtjylland. He took to social media to announce his appointment with the three-time winner of Denmark’s top division. He will take charge of his first official match on 16 February 2023 in Lisbon against Sporting in the UEFA Europa League.

Indian football fans, particularly of Bengaluru FC, have fond memories of Carles Cuadrat. The tactician took the Blues to the Indian Super League title in 2019. He came to the Indian shores as an Assistant Manager under Albert Roca. It was a very successful period for the Blues where they won the Federation Cup in 2017 and the Super Cup in 2018. Furthermore, Bengaluru became the first Indian outfit to reach the AFC Cup final in 2016.

A well-respected figure

Carles Cuadrat has experience of working under big names in the world of football. His journey began when he worked as a physical trainer and coach at various FC Barcelona youth teams. Later, he joined former FC Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard as a member of the technical staff at Turkish giants Galatasaray.

In the 2018-19 season, Carles Cuadrat became the head coach of Bengaluru FC after the departure of Albert Roca. He took the Blues to a first-place finish in the regular season and also won the title in convincing manner.

Post the termination of his contract with Bengaluru FC on mutual consent, the Spaniard signed for Aris Limassol in Cyprus as an Assistant Manager. Now, the tactician will lead FC Midtjylland and face a new set of challenges.

It is no surprise to see Carles Cuadrat receive a major opportunity due to his quality as a head coach. During his stay at the club, Bengaluru FC played sensational football, dominating teams in all aspects. His sides are well-organised and his tactics are on point.
