These players can bolster any ISL team.
With another ISL season nearing its end, interest is ripe about which I-League players may enter the ISL next season. As per multiple reports, ISL clubs are already reaching out to a number of players who are impressing with their performance in the I-League.
Here, in this article, we will take a look at such players who deserve a chance in the ISL.
5. Subhasish Roy Chowdhury - Real Kashmir
The former ATK and NorthEast United goalkeeper decided to join the I-League outfit Real Kashmir after spending three seasons with the Highlanders. Among the goalkeepers, he has played for the highest number of minutes. He is also the goalkeeper with the highest number of clean sheets. With many teams suffering from goalkeeping woes, it will not be surprising to see the seasoned goalkeeper make a comeback to the top-tier football league next season.
4. Melroy Melwin Assisi - Rajasthan United
Melroy Assisi is having a brilliant season for Rajasthan United. He is the only defender to feature on this list. Currently, he is one of the two players with the highest number of minutes under his belt. He is looking quite solid in the RUFC backline in every game. Precisely, he has made 121 recoveries throughout the season, the highest for any player. As the bottom-placed ISL outfits continue to struggle with their defence, we can safely assume to see Assisi in any of those teams next season.
3. Thahir Zaman - Gokulam Kerala
With three goals to his name, Thahir Zaman is one of the highest Indian goal scorers in the I-League. He is impressing pundits with his gameplay right from the word go. He is consistently helping his team to remain in pursuit of a third consecutive league title by showing good form in almost every game with regular goals. For Gokulam to keep pressure on the league leaders RoundGlass Punjab, it will be crucial for Zaman to continue with his form too! If that happens, ISL clubs shall be interested to get his services next season.
2. William Pauliankhum - Rajasthan United
Another player from Rajasthan to feature in the list, William has been no short of a revelation this season. He tops many of the charts that a midfielder would love to. So far, he has made 224 challenges, whipped in 36 crosses, and made 666 passes. All of these are highest for these respective parameters. These statistics objectively tell us that William is having a dream season in the I-League. Teams struggling with their midfield would definitely love to have him on board and take care of midfield woes.
1. Rosenberg Gabriel - Sreenidi Deccan
One of the best Indian players in the I-League this season, Rosenberg Gabriel has been setting the Sreenidi Deccan wings on fire. He is consistently playing well for the outfit on the front. Currently, he is the highest assist provider in the I-League with five assists to his name. With a significant portion of the league yet to be played, there is no doubt that this number will reach the zenith by its end. Moreover, as a number of ISL teams are in search of quality attackers, Rosenberg Gabriel is expected to be one of their top choices.
