This was the Blues' fifth win on the trot.
Bengaluru FC picked up their fifth consecutive win in the Indian Super League (ISL) with a 2-1 win over ATK Mohun Bagan at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Sunday. A relatively tight affair was blown open through an amazing volley from Javi Hernandez in the 78th minute.
Roy Krishna was gifted a goal in the 90th minute and Dimitri Petratos’ impressive added-time strike only proved a consolation, with the Blues picking up their first win over ATKMB in ISL history. Here are the Player Ratings for the game.
ATK Mohun Bagan (by Uttiyo Sarkar)
Vishal Kaith – 4.0
Kaith showcased decent reflexes to make some nice saves, but wasn’t able to reach Hernandez’s smashing shot for his strike. Ended his game with an awful blunder, fluffing an easy cross to gift Krishna the winning goal.
Asish Rai – 7.0
The right-back continued his good form in the ISL. A major threat going forward, having more attacking danger than some of the advanced players. He had three shots, including one that had Gurpreet scrambling. Defensively agile, making nine tackle attempts and two clearances.
Pritam Kotal – 6.0
Kotal got himself foolishly booked five minutes into the game and had to be cautious afterwards. Still, did well to keep Siva quiet – making two interceptions and two blocks.
Brendan Hamill – 6.5
Frustrated the returning Roy Krishna for the majority of the game by tracking his movement well and not allowing him free reign in the final third. Made five clearances and two blocks to keep out a lot of threat.
Subashish Bose – 6.5
Bose neutralized the threat of ex-teammate Prabir Das, not allowing him any room on his side. Had little attacking threat but defensively alert, making three clearances, two tackles and three blocks. Could’ve maybe done better to stop the cross for the second from coming in.
Carl McHugh – 7.0
McHugh covered more ground than any other ATKMB midfielder and showcased admirable work rate. He created two chances with his clever final third passes and also contributed defensively with four clearances and two blocks.
Glan Martins – 6.0
Not as impactful as he was in his debut, Martins had a game of two halves. Hardworking in first – but struggled to maintain intensity as the game went on. Made two interceptions and two blocks.
Manvir Singh – 7.0
Manvir was arguably ATKMB’s biggest creative threat on the day. Tormented the defenders with his surging runs and delivered some fantastic passes, creating three big chances. Got the assist for Petratos’ goal.
Federico Gallego – 4.5
In his full ATKMB debut, Gallego failed to match the influence of Hugo Boumous. Got involved in some exciting moments – but lacked the spark to open up the Bengaluru FC backline or terrorize the defenders.
Liston Colaco – 3.0
Colaco got a golden opportunity to win back his starting role and completely wasted it. His final product was really poor, with his shots going horribly wide of the target. Failed to create anything either.
Dimitri Petratos – 7.5
Petratos worked his socks off in an attempt to energize the ATKMB attackers. Caused troubles with his set-piece delivery and his movement in the final third was really menacing. Ended a hard-working effort with a solid hit – even though it hit a player en route to the goal.
Substitute
Kiyan Nassiri – N/R
Made little attacking impact after coming on and got booked late on.
Fardin Ali Molla – N/R
The young striker could not really inspire any change, losing the ball a few times in the late stages.
