Hernan Santana signs for FC Goa till end of season

The Spaniard won the League double with Mumbai City in 2020-21.
Hernan Santana has signed for FC Goa till the end of the season, Khel Now can confirm. A source close to the development informed Khel Now, "Santana will play for FC Goa till the end of the season."
Hernan Santana is someone, who has previously played for Mumbai City and NorthEast United in the Indian Super League (ISL). His inclusion into the squad means adding a lot of depth not only in the defensive third but also in the midfield.
About the Player
Hernan Santana, 32, was recently plying his trade at Sichuan Jiuniu, under the tutelage of Sergio Lobera. The Spaniard was previously with Lobera in the 2020-21 season at Mumbai City. While playing at Mumbai City, he scored two goals in 19 games.
The next season, he joined NorthEast United and added his presence into Khalid Jamil's side. He played 17 games for the Highlanders and netted the ball home once apart from assisting twice.
Hernan Santana has the experience of playing in the La Liga and La Liga 2. Thus, FC Goa will be greatly benefitted by the signature of this versatile Spanish player.
FC Goa's performance in ISL 2022-23
FC Goa have been going through an inconsistent season. They have 23 points in 15 games currently and will be taking on East Bengal in their next fixture. They have won seven games till now and draw two. However, the Gaurs have lost six games till now. The two positive signs from their campaign are Noah Sadaoui and Iker Guarrotxena.
Noah Sadaoui has scored six goals and registered five assists till now. Meanwhile, Iker Guarrotxena has netted seven goals, the highest for his side.
With Marc Valiente going out and Hernan Santana joining the club, he can be used not only as a defender but also a defensive midfielder in case Edu Bedia is missing from the side.
