Hira Mondal expresses delight after sealing NorthEast United FC move

The defender will hope to bounce back after a disappointing stint with the Blues.
Hira Mondal will play for NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League 2022-23. The left-back was without a club after Bengaluru FC terminated his contract with mutual consent. He became a part of the Blues family following a fruitful display for East Bengal FC during the previous season of the league.
However, the defender did not enjoy game time at the Blues under Simon Grayson. Hira Mondal will represent NorthEast United FC now, hoping to rediscover his form and help the team rise up in the league table. I am delighted and would like to thank the coach and the management for onboarding me mid-season. I did not have a great start to the season and missed out on game time.” he expressed after the completion of the move to the Highlanders.
“Now, I am very happy to be here. I like all my new teammates and they are all great players and great people too. There are a lot of senior players that I know from earlier too like Arindam da,” he further added, showing excitement upon playing with his new teammates.
An important addition
Hira Mondal is a quality addition to NorthEast United FC’s roster. The club is struggling in the 2022-23 season of the league after losing 11 out of their first 12 matches. He will hope to put a stop to the number of goals that the team is conceding and contribute towards the overall performance of the team.
“I want to play well here and make the most of every chance I get. I want to prove my quality. From where I finished last season, this will be a fresh start for me. I want to fulfil my dreams and this will be a great platform for me,” he further said while wearing the colours of NEUFC in a candid video on the social media platforms.
