The sides took a point each from an entertaining contest.
There was nothing to separate Hyderabad FC and Chennaiyin FC as their Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 fixture ended 1-1 at the G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday. Petar Sliskovic scored for the visitors while Bartholomew Ogbeche equalised from the spot to rescue a point from the game.
It was an equal game with both teams attempting to win. Players on both sides performed well, but could not secure three points in the end.
Here is a look at the player ratings from both teams after the exciting draw:
Hyderabad FC (by Waseem Zaidi)
Gurmeet Singh (GK) - 5.5
Gurmeet Singh could have done better during the corner situation that led to his side conceding. He was saved by his defence a couple of times after unconvincing punches on the ball. Not his best performance.
Nikhil Poojary - 7.0
Nikhil Poojary was one of the best Indian performers in the HFC line-up tonight. The defender played 82 minutes and worked his socks off on the right flank. He had 50 touches on the ball, made three clearances and delivered two crosses for his teammates.
Odei Onaindia - 6.5
Odei Onaindia was impressive and made a couple of important blocks to keep his side in the match. The only drawback was a lack of marking during a corner which led to CFC’s goal.
Nim Dorjee - 5.5
Nim Dorjee Tamang had a good game apart from the one moment that led to Sliskovic giving him a dodge and scoring the goal. The defender made four clearances during the game.
Akash Mishra - 6.5
Akash Mishra was defensively sound, keeping a close watch on the likes of Ninthoi Meetei. He had 79 touches of the ball and created one scoring chance for the Nizams.
Hitesh Sharma - 6.5
Hitesh Sharma did not turn up for the second half after Sahil Tavora took his place in midfield. He kept things simple and moved the ball with ease, but could not make a lasting impact on the game.
Borja Herrera - 6.5
Borja Herrera was unhappy to be substituted as he was having a good game for HFC. He created two chances for his team and kept the ball moving in the middle of the park.
Mohammad Yasir - 5.5
Mohammad Yasir did not have a good performance as he could not contribute after 72 minutes of game-time. The winger created only one chance and was man-marked well by CFC’s Aakash Sangwan.
Rohit Danu - 6.5
Rohit Danu was promising on the ball and caused trouble with his dribbling on the flanks. Playing as a winger, he created one scoring chance, delivered a couple of crosses and had to track back several times.
Javier Siverio - 6.5
The Spaniard worked extremely hard to contribute in the final third and won the penalty that led to the equaliser. His aerial threat, and movement off the ball in order to penetrate the Chennaiyin FC backline, were noteworthy.
Bartholomew Ogbeche - 7.5
While Bartholomew Ogbeche had a rather quiet evening, the striker turned up when it mattered the most. He scored from the penalty spot to equalise the game and bag his 60th ISL goal.

Joel Chianese came on the pitch to add more creativity in HFC’s final third. He delivered a couple of good crosses.
Abdul Rabeeh - 7.0
Abdul Rabeeh’s pace was a huge asset for Hyderabad FC in the second half. He caused the CFC defence plenty of problems.

Samik Mitra – 6.0
Didn’t really have much to do apart from the penalty, which he almost saved with a decent dive.
Ajith Kumar – 6.5
Ajith was proactive on the right. Kept the menacing Danu quiet and covered a lot of distance, making three crosses as well as three tackles.
Vafa Hakhamaneshi – 5.0
Vafa ruined Ogbeche’s night with a rock-solid display. Positioned himself perfectly to avail danger time and again. Undid a brilliant performance with a callous tackle, resulting in Hyderabad’s penalty.
Fallou Diagne – 7.0
Diagne was undeterred at the back, frustrating Ogbeche with his intimidating presence. Used his physicality to make some key challenges, including two blocks.
Aakash Sangwan – 8.0
Sangwan keeps delivering for Chennaiyin FC! The left-back was defensively sturdy, making two tackles and two blocks. Kept tormenting Hyderabad with his impressive crosses and delivered a great assist for Sliskovic.
Jiteshwor Singh – 7.0
Jiteshwor was a major disruption to Hyderabad’s style. Kept popping up in the right areas to ruin their attacks and moved the ball around swiftly. He registered two tackles, two interceptions and three blocks in a highly energetic display.
Julius Duker – 7.5
Duker used his high footballing IQ to outwit the Hyderabad FC players. He was really creative, setting up two huge chances that weren’t converted. Duker was like a bulldog in midfield, pressing the players hard and making four tackles in an efficient display.
Anirudh Thapa – 7.0
The Chennaiyin FC captain ensured his side never lost their focus or shape in the game, making it tough for Hyderabad to play. He was a fiery figure himself, contributing all around with a few shots on goal as well as two interceptions and blocks each.
Ninthoinganba Meetei – 6.5
Ninthoi was an absolute menace with his rapid movement. Flew past defenders in a few exciting forward runs and created a few big moments. He lacked a bit in his final product, though.
Vincy Barretto – 6.0
Barretto was a really hard-working figure, moving up and down the left. Missed a major chance from close range in the first half, but provided decent defensive cover.
Petar Sliskovic – 8.0
Sliskovic used his physicality and link-up style to be a thorn for Hyderabad. Was involved in a few exciting moments before scoring a thumping header. Was subbed off before the HFC equalizer.
