The NorthEast United head coach also shared his views about the new players who played against Bengaluru FC.
NorthEast United were handed a 1-2 defeat by Bengaluru FC at their home as the Blues snatched a late winner to take all three points against the home side. Vincenzo Alberto Annese's side started brightly, but couldn’t capitalise on their chances.
As a result, Bengaluru FC took the lead in the second half with a strike from Sivasakthi Narayanan before Romain Philippoteaux pulled one back with a direct free-kick. But the Blues nailed it in the final minutes of the game as Alan Costa headed it home yet again to secure a win for the visitors.
After the game, NorthEast United’s head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese addressed the media. Here's what he said.
Thoughts on the game
Sharing his thoughts on the game, Vincenzo said that his team needs to be better in such situations. He was also happy with the performance of his new players.
“It’s football. We need to work on being better in such situations. I know that I’m happy with the performance of the new players. I hope Jordan doesn’t have a big injury. We think about the next game."
“Of course, a loss in the last few minutes is very tough. The guys were even crying in the dressing room, so it’s sad."
"We need to analyse, go forward and understand what went wrong. It’s important to believe in our job and in our players,” he asserted.
Transfer Market activities
Vincenzo Alberto Annese also gave an update about the new signings that the club is going to make. He said that there will be two new foreign faces in the team by next week.
“We are working day and night on this. For sure, there will be new faces by next week and they will give us a fresh strength. Today we saw the changes with the new players. For sure new foreign players will come," he signed off.
