Dutch Giants, once one of the biggest clubs in the world of football. Ajax are struggling to reach its peak. The last time they reached their peak was in the 2018/19 season of the UEFA Champions League. Ajax were the underdogs of the tournament knocking out Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. However ever since then, they have developed many talents but are not doing their best. After Erik Ten Hag's departure, Alfred Schreuder took over. After failing to win in seven matches and being unable to chase Feyenoord in the Eredivisie title race, Ajax sacked him.

As of now, Ajax are now in 5th place in the table with 34 points. A new manager is needed to lead the helm.

Let's take a look at the top 5 managers who can manage Ajax :

5. Marcelo Bielsa

The former Leeds manager will be an ideal leader to manage Ajax. Bielsa has managed clubs in Italy, France, England and Spain. However, he has not managed any club in the Dutch league. Bielsa is known for his attacking display and developing youngsters. Earlier Bielsa was potentially interested in joining Everton however there has been no official approach. Bielsa can possibly rekindle the fire in many underperforming players and talented youngsters as well.

4. Pascal Jansen

Jansen is earning fame in the world of football. The Dutch manager is leading the helm at AZ Alkmaar. As of now, AZ Alkmaar are second in the Eredivisie table. They are only two points behind table-toppers Feyenoord and can possibly win the title as well. At this pace, Alkmaar will surely qualify for Europe.

Pascal Jansen's team are showcasing some quality football and have also beaten Ajax 2-1 as well. Pascal Jansen has stuck true to his word and has stayed with AZ Alkmaar. However if a giant like Ajax comes calling, he can possibly join them and take them to another level.

3. Lucien Favre

The former Borussia Dortmund manager has won some silverware in his career. He won the Swiss Cup and the Swiss Championship as a manager. Favre was criticised a lot after back-to-back defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen. Favre's teams play dynamic, quick transition and attacking football. Moreover, they play a controlled possession-based football which is his key tactic. At OGC Nice, he implemented this possession-based football. When Favre was managing Nice in 2016/17 and 2017/18 he finished second to PSG.

2. Paulo Fonseca

Fonseca has displayed that he's capable of much more after good stints with Shakhtar Donetsk and Roma. He is known for using a blend of experienced and younger players to his strength. Paulo has also shown that he can change players according to the team's requirements.

In his managerial career, he has won the Ukrainian Premier League three times. He has also won the Ukrainian Cup three times. His preferred formation has always been a 4-2-3-1 and can possibly invigorate this in Ajax as well.

1. Louis Van Gaal

An iconic manager in the history of football. The first trophy he won in his career was with Ajax and it was the KNVB Cup. He has achieved many wonders with Ajax. This includes the Eredivisie titles, UEFA Super Cups and the intercontinental cup as well. One of his best achievements with Ajax was winning the league in the 1994-95 season. Van Gaal's side won the title without losing a single match. But his greatest achievement was winning the Eredivisie title in 2009 with AZ Alkmaar. They won the title in the 2009 season 11 points clear of Ajax. It would be iconic if he would make a return and help them come back to their old state.
