The Brazilian is currently on trial with FC Barcelona

The Brazilian maestro, Ronaldinho, is a legendary figure in FC Barcelona's history. He helped the club regain its stardom in the 2000s when it was struggling. In 2008, he left the Catalan capital, and the club has since then not seen another enigma like him. The search for Ronaldinho's magic might be ended by his son only after 12 years of waiting.

As per the latest rumors, Ronaldinho's son Joao Mendes is currently on trial with FC Barcelona's under-19 team and will be carrying on the legacy of his father in the Catalan City if the trial goes well.

The 17-year-old forward played last for Cruzeiro in 2022. Before joining Cruzeiro, Mendes was a member of Flamengo's football academy. Like his father, Mendes has gained fame for his dribbling skills but has yet to show the same quality in front of the goal.

Joao Mendes was without a club for almost a year

The Brazilian prodigy, Joao Mendes is currently on trial with FC Barcelona's under-19 team, but before that, he was without a club for the entire year. In February 2022, the Brazilian left Cruzeiro. He is predominantly a left-foot player with a 1.78m height. Despite reports that FC Barcelona's president Joan Laporta is also involved in talks, his future at FC Barcelona depends solely on his performance.

Mendes hid his father's name while giving trial at Cruzeiro

It's no secret that being the son of Ronaldinho brings a great deal of fame and attention since he is a huge name in football. But Mendes never used his father's name in football to gain a competitive edge. At the age of thirteen, Mendes gave a trial at Cruzeiro without telling his father's name, and he was selected.

Mendes signed a six-year contract with the club in 2019. He is currently on trial at FC Barcelona, and his future will be determined within the next few days. Mendes holds dual citizenship of both Brazil and Spain.
