Wadoo was serving as the manager of Real Kashmir until a few days back.

Mohammedan SC and Kibu Vicuna have parted ways on mutual consent. The 51-year-old was roped in as the head coach during the midway of the 2022–23 I-League season replacing Andrey Chernyshov. Before joining Mohammedan FC, Vicuna was managing the newly formed Calcutta-side Diamond Harbour FC.

Who is Kibu Vicuna?

The Spanish manager’s first assignment in India was during the 2019-20 I-League, coaching Mohun Bagan. The Mariners clinched the first spot and were crowned the champions in his maiden stint. After the alignment of ATK and Mohun Bagan, the new management chose Antonio Lopez Habas as the new tactician.

Vicuna soon joined ISL side Kerala Blasters but couldn't achieve much success, winning three games out of 18. Both club and Kibu Vicuna decided to part ways on mutual consent, with two games still remaining in the league stage.

What next at Mohammedan SC?

Mohammedan SC are currently placed in the ninth spot with 20 points. They finished second in the previous edition of the I-League with 37 points. As per reports, former Indian national team player and recent Real Kashmir boss Mehrajuddin Wadoo is currently the one to replace Vicuna at the helm.

The 39-year-old started his managerial career in I-League with Sudeva Delhi FC and in the following year was appointed the head coach of Real Kashmir FC. At Real Kashmir, he was replaced by English manager Gifton Noel-Williams, in February 2023. Prior to managing the I-League clubs, he was the assistant coach of Hyderabad FC in 2019.

Wadoo started his professional career with Jammu Kashmir Police and later on represented Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. He was an integral part of Chennaiyin FC in the 2015-16 season and later went on to play for Mumbai City FC in the ISL. The defender has represented the national team 32 times from 2005 to 2011 and has scored two goals.

Mohammedan SC have four games remaining and will want to finish the season on a positive note under Mehrajuddin Wadoo.
