The game was ridden with officiating errors.

While both sides needed three points from the game for the top-six pursuits, neither of them was able to achieve so. In an entertaining game between Chennaiyin FC and Odisha FC, the teams shared the spoils. With this draw, any chance of Chennaiyin finishing among the top six teams is virtually over. For Odisha, losing two points made their top-six bid even more difficult as it provides a new opportunity for Bengaluru FC to cement their place in the playoffs.

In light of these, let us take a look at how the players of both teams fared in the game.

Chennaiyin FC (By M Sudharshan)

Samik Mitra - 5.5

Samik made one clearance and was pretty much silent throughout the match apart from conceding two goals.

Edwin Vanspaul - 5.5

Edwin had a decent game making two clearances but wasn’t playing in his preferred position. Was responsible for conceding the second goal.

Gurmukh Singh - 6.5

Played well adapting to the centre-back position and provided 13 long balls into the final third. Overall, he made two tackles and one interception.

Fallou Diagne - 6.5

Provided 11 long balls in the final third along with winning two aerial and one ground duels. Created a great chance but Petar Sliskovic failed to convert.

Akash Sangwan - 6.5

Provided the assist to Anirudh Thapa but had a poor passing accuracy of 64 per cent with 64 touches. Created two important chances.

Anirudh Thapa - 7.0

Scored the opening goal and had an 86 per cent passing accuracy. Was involved in one tackle and an interception each.

Julius Duker - 6.5

Duker played majorly in the defensive section and committed two tackles and made three interceptions. Was substituted in the 61st minute to make way for an attacking player.

Vincy Barretto - 7.0

Was present all around the park and glanced a clear shot on goal in the first half. Showed a great presence of mind while providing an assist for Nasser El Khayati's equaliser.

Nasser El Khayati - 7.5

El Khayati was kept silent in the first half but was a live wire in the second, scoring the equaliser with a neat finish.

Ninthoi - 5.5

Ninthoi couldn't create much impact. He had 25 touches and registered a 93 per cent passing accuracy.

Petar Sliskovic - 6.0

Sliskovic did not have any shot on target. Was fouled twice and caught offside on three occasions.

Substiutes

Kwame Karikari - 5.5

Was brought on in the second half but couldn't make any vital contribution apart from having a shot on target.

Jiteshwor Singh - 6.5

Was impressive in the limited time he got. Provide four long balls and whipped in two crosses.

Rahim Ali - 6.0

Was brought in the 70th minute and had 16 touches overall. He provided an inch-perfect ball to Sliskovic but the striker couldn't convert it.

Vafa Hakamaneshi - N/A

Odisha FC (By Souvari Paul)

Amrinder Singh - 8.0

Amrinder made four spectacular saves to keep his side in the game. Had nothing to do in cases of Chennaiyin FC’s goals. Looked sturdy and confident.

Narender Gahlot - 6.5

Was outrun a few times by the wingers of Chennaiyin FC. Despite playing for only around 59 minutes, had the highest number of touches for his side. Barring a few mistakes, looked good in defence.

Carlos Delgado - 6.5

With two tackles and five clearances, Delgado played his part well to keep Chennaiyin’s scoreline to only two. Made certain crucial touches to prevent Chennaiyin FC from scoring. Should have done a bit better to prevent El Khayati's goal.

Osama Malik - 6.0

Left the pitch in the first half due to an injury. Looked decent. Should have kept an eye on Thapa when he scored.

Sahil Panwar - 6.0

Played in the first half only. Was not able to aid his side’s attacks. Made only a few defensive contributions.

Thoiba Singh - 7.5

Took a shot and created a chance. Had a high number of touches and made the second-highest number of passes for his side. Looked quite lively in Odisha’s midfield.

Isaac Vanmalsawma - 4.5

Had a very poor outing. Did not make any meaningful contribution in any third of the pitch. Consequently, was subbed off at half time.

Saul Crespo - 7.5

Looked composed and provided stability to Odisha FC’s midfield. Had the highest number of touches and made quite a few passes. Made a few defensive contributions as well.

Isak Vanlalruatfela - 8.5

Played for around 65 minutes. Within this time, scored a goal and provided an assist. Played brilliantly throughout.

Diego Mauricio - 8.0

Was lively throughout the match. Scored Odisha’s first goal. Took three shots in total. Looked threatening on many occasions.

Nandhakumar Sekar - 7.5

Took a shot, whipped in three crosses, and assisted Odisha’s second goal. Looked good for the major part of the game. Aided his fellow attackers well.

Substitutes

Lalruatthara - 5.5

Played in the second half but did not look much effective apart from making four clearances.

Denechandra Meitei - 5.0

Whipped in a cross and took two corners. Was not able to make any other significant contribution.

Raynier Fernandes - 6.0

Played in the second half. Looked a bit rusty. Took a shot. Made 17 passes. Better performance is expected from him.

Shubham Sarangi - 4.5

Created a chance. Made a few crucial defensive contributions. Clearly getting into a rhythm.

Aniket Jadhav - 4.0

No significant contribution whatsoever apart from a single cross. Needs to work more on jelling with the team.
