Ratings: Kamaljit, Cleiton shine as East Bengal overcome Kerala Blasters

East Bengal got their maiden win over Kerala Blasters by a margin of 1-0.
East Bengal got back to winning ways in Kolkata after defeating Kerala Blasters 1-0, thus breaking their four-game winless streak. In an entertaining game of football, both sides created many chances. It was birthday boy Cleiton who scored the only goal of the game to earn East Bengal their fifth victory of the season. Kerala Blasters' poor away run continues as they lost their third away game.

Kamaljit Singh - 8.0
Had a wonderful game. Made three saves, one of which was a brilliant one-handed stop. Looked confident with his gatherings. Made a bad mistake which did not cost anything.
Ankit Mukherjee - N/A
Was subbed off in the 16th minute. Was not able to keep up with the speed of Bryce Miranda.
Sarthak Golui - 7.5
A sturdy performance. Looked strong in East Bengal’s backline and provided stability. Made many crucial touches.
Charalambos Kyriakou - 7.5
Played quite well in the heart of East Bengal’s defence. Was vocal in the defence. Went toe-to-toe with Kerala’s two-pronged strike force.
Jerry Lalrinzuala - 7.0
Gave away the ball a few times. Yet, recovered many balls as well. Aided his team’s attack well.
VP Suhair - 8.0
It was an excellent outing for Suhair who played an instrumental role in East Bengal’s forward movements. Scored a good goal but it was ruled offside.
Mobashir Rahman - 7.0
Mobashir had a good outing as well. Had a high number of touches and made 30 passes. Made good forward movements.
Alex Lima - 8.0
Had a good game. Held on to possession well. Made good passes. Had the highest number of touches and passes for his side.
Naorem Mahesh Singh - 8.5
Created the chance through which East Bengal scored their goal, his seventh assist of the season. It was a brilliant solo run. Put in four crosses.
Jake Jervis - 7.0
Jake’s debut with East Bengal went really well. His addition made a visible impact on the team as the team collectively played well with the addition of another attacking option. Looked quite good in the game.
Cleiton Silva - 8.5
One of the best players on the pitch today. Scored the match’s only goal and his tenth goal of the season. Looked threatening on multiple occasions.

Mohammad Rakip - 9.0
Came on in the 16th minute. Impacted the fixture positively by containing Bryce Miranda. In addition, aided the attack by floating in two crosses.
Jordan O’Doherty - 5.5
Came on in the 76th minute. Took a shot. Played his role well in seeing the game off.
Sumeet Passi - 5.0
Similar to O’Doherty, Passi also played his part in guaranteeing full points to East Bengal.

Karanjit Singh - 8.0
Made a brilliant double save to deny Cleiton a first-half goal. Made three good saves. Looked good throughout.

Had a good game. Kept Mahesh silent for a significant part of the game. At the same time, aided in his team’s attacks.

Hormipam played well in the centre of defence. Handled the threat of Cleiton and Jervis throughout.

Mongil had a decent game. Played well in defence. Made six interceptions. Had 77 touches and completed 50 passes.

With 53 touches and 35 passes, played his part well in Kerala’s midfield. Made a number of crucial defensive contributions.

Rahul KP looked very lively. Made a few inroads into East Bengal’s defence. Played a brilliant pass which should have been converted.

One of the best players for Kerala. Had 86 touches throughout. Took eight freekicks, many of which were dangerous.
Jessel Carneiro - 5.5
Had a bad game. Was not able to make any attacking contributions.
Bryce Miranda - 5.0
Looked good in the initial moments but became invisible after Rakip came on.
Dimitrios Diamantakos - 7
One of the better players who made a strong impact on the game. Took two shots, created two chances and whipped in three crosses. His finishing was poor.
Apostolos Giannou - 6.0
Took two shots, one of which was on target. Looked threatening on multiple occasions. Finishing needed to be better.

Nishu Kumar - 6.0
Played for around 30 minutes but was not much effective in aiding his side’s attacks. Made a few defensive touches.

Came on in the 60th minute. Did not do anything effective apart from one moment.

Had a bad debut with Kerala. Should have done better to clear the ball from which Cleiton scored.
