The Kalinga Warriors delivered a disappointing performance under pressure.

Odisha FC suffered a 0-2 defeat against Jamshedpur FC in a crucial Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 fixture. It was the last league game of the season for the team and they had to avoid a defeat in order to secure a playoff berth. However, succumbing to defeat means that their fate is no longer in their hands.

Jamshedpur FC players were hungrier for the win and Odisha FC players were crumbling under the pressure, considering their respective performances. Goals from Harry Sawyer and Ritwik Das were enough to hand Odisha FC a defeat, who must now hope that FC Goa fail to win their game tomorrow against Bengaluru FC.

Here are the player ratings from the game:

Odisha FC (by Waseem Zaidi)

Amrinder Singh (GK) - 6.5

Amrinder Singh made a few key saves but he could have done better to stop Jamshedpur FC, considering his quality. The custodian made six saves in total.

Shubham Sarangi - 5.0

The right-back had a difficult time containing an in-form Ritwik Das. He found himself out of position on a few occasions, including the instance that led to the second goal.

Narender Gahlot - 4.5

The defender did not have a good outing as he made no successful tackles and could not prevent Jamshedpur FC from scoring two goals before the tactician took him off.

Carlos Delgado - 5.5

The centre-back did not look in control of his backline, particularly on the occasions that led to the goals. He made only two clearances but did finish with three successful tackles.

Sahil Panwar - 6.5

Sahil Panwar played 46 minutes of the match and did not turn up for the second half. He made two blocks and one clearance during the stay.

Isak Vanlalruatfela - 6.0

The winger was unlucky to be subbed at the break. However, he was ineffective in the first half and did not create any chances for the team. Neither did he glance a shot on goal.

Saul Crespo - 7.0

Saul Crespo was the only player from the Odisha FC line-up who did not disappoint. He created four chances for the team but his teammates were not able to capitalise on them.

Thoiba Singh - 5.5

Thoiba Singh was a busy operator in midfield. He often looked isolated. There were not enough impactful moments from the player.

Nandhakumar Sekar - 5.5

The winger created only one scoring chance and had two shots go wide. He left the pitch at the stroke of the 75th minute.

Pedro Martin - 5.5

Pedro Martin was one of the players who was subbed during the break. He was unable to score for Odisha FC in the first half and came away with no shots on target.

Diego Mauricio - 4.0

Diego Mauricio worked extremely hard but his finishing was extremely frustrating to see. He got only one shot on target from five attempts.

Substitutes

Denechandra Meitei - 5.5

The defender made his entry into the game at the start of the second half. In the end, he did not make any meaningful contribution to the team and had 24 touches of the ball.

Victor Rodriguez - 6.5

The midfielder was heavily involved after coming on as a substitute. He should have started the game considering his recent form. Four crosses from the midfielder did not bear any result.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga - 5.5

Jerry’s pace was not enough to find the goals Odisha FC were searching for in the match.

Isaac Chhakchhuak - 5.0

Isaac helped in the creation of a few attacking moves but did not combine well with the strikers to find the goals.

Aniket Jadhav - 6.5

Aniket Jadhav made a few attempts at creating chances for his team but did not provide the kind of service which the attackers are hungry for.

Jamshedpur FC (by Sathvik Bhardwaj)

Vishal Yadav (GK) - 7

Read Odisha’s attacks well. Held on to five catches.

Nikhil Barla - 7.5

Made his ISL debut and got stuck in down the right. Crossed well into the box. Despite playing out of position, put up a solid display at right-back and disrupted Nandha’s dribbles.

Pratik Chaudhari - 8

Picked up a yellow early in the second half for a foul on Victor. Stuck close to Mauricio and bagged a hard-fought clean sheet. Made seven clearances and four successful interceptions.

Pronay Halder - 7.5

Played deeper in a defensive role, mopped up well and dealt with Odisha’s late barrage.

Ricky Lallawmawma - 6.5

Had a decent game as he was largely untroubled at left-back.

Boris Singh - 8

Good ball progression, always on the look-out for forward runs. Went on a solo run in the dying minutes but was denied by Amrinder. Made three successful tackles.

Jitendra Singh - 7

Broke Odisha FC’s defensive line with some measured through balls. Covered the most distance among Jamshedpur FC players.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas - 7

Played a more midfield role. Was tasked with set-pieces. Mixed up his deliveries from throw-ins and corners well.

Ritwik Das - 9

Shooting radar was astray and lost the ball in the first half. Created the opening goal with some good pressure and cut-back. Scored Jamshedpur FC's second goal moments after the first with a lovely finish past Amrinder. Had a couple more chances.

Harry Sawyer - 8

Won flick-ons in wide spaces. Was creative on the ball and his influence grew with the game. Scored the opening goal with a header from Chukwu’s cross, and set Ritwik up for the second. Created four chances.

Daniel Chima Chukwu - 8.5

Jamshedpur FC’s top-scorer again showed excellent hold-up play. Tested Amrinder with a shot before half-time. Delicious cross to Harry Sawyer for the Australian's goal.
