The modern-day tactician and magician, Erik ten Hag, has been working wonders at Old Trafford lately. A Dutchman with an old-style manager and a ruthless demanding personality for players, he has rejuvenated the club's dead soul. He is currently one of the best managers in the world.

Although Manchester United is his first major project as a manager, he had a truly proven track record before arriving in England. Prior to arriving in England, he was the manager of Dutch giants Ajax where he led the young Ajax team to become one of Europe's most feared teams.

He not only brought domestic success to the club but also helped them regain their stature on the European globe. Ten Hag led them to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in the 2018/19 season. As Manager, Ten Hag rose through the ranks of managing Bayern Munich's II side, Go Ahead Eagles, and Utrecht before moving to Amsterdam.

Speaking of his career as a player, Ten Hag was a centre-back and played for Utrecht, Twente in the Dutch league. He called time on his career as a player in 2002 and 10 years later, picked his first assignment as manager through Go Ahead Eagles in the Dutch league.
