Premier League 2022-23: West Ham vs Chelsea: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast
An exciting London Derby awaits us in the Matchday 23 of the Premier League
Matchday 23 of the Premier League, sees two fierce rivals take on each other, both having really similar fates.
West Ham are experiencing a pretty astounding season. From being one of the best English club last season, and qualifying for European Football, to now being 17th in the table, and fighting a tough relegation battle, West Ham’s fate has taken a pretty drastic turn out of the blue.
Though the Hammers have had a poor 2022-23, their recent form has been much better, and they have actually impressed the lot with their wins against Everton and Brentford, and an impressive draw against 4th-place Newcastle
But another big test awaits David Moyes’ men, as they take on next door neighbours Chelsea, who themselves are going through a tough period at the moment.
Things haven’t gone to plan for Graham Potter and his men this season. Despite spending lavishly on some key transfers, Chelsea’s fate has remained the same, and they just can’t' seem to find a way to start getting those points on the board.
The Blues’ last game was a prime example of the struggles they are going through this season. Despite playing with their best possible 11, and playing their key winter transfer signings, Chelsea failed to register a win, and had to settle for a draw against Fulham.
Chelsea can push themselves above Fulham in table, and get in the race for European football, do they come home with three points from the London Stadium on Saturday.
Here is everything you need to know about the exciting London Derby.
Kick-off:
11-02-2023; 6:00 pm (IST), 12:30 pm (GMT)
Chelsea form (all competitions): D-D-W-L-L-L
West Ham United form (all competitions): D-W-W-L-W-D
Players to Watch
Mykhailo Mudryk
Mudryk is one of the eight new signings made by Chelsea in January and was bought for a staggering sum of 88 million dollars. He is a player with immense potential, and made a bold statement to the entire footballing world in his Chelsea debut against Liverpool, by his brilliant performance.
Though Mudryk wasn’t truly impressive in the Blues’ last game against Fulham, The Ukrainian has it in him to make a difference against West Ham, and might actually find a solution to Chelsea’s recent goalscoring issue.
Declan Rice
Rice has undoubtedly been the Hammers’ best player this season. The Englishman has done pretty well in his position and hasn’t failed to impress. Rice has put his maximum effort into every game, and covers the entirety of the field during games, as seen on his average head map.
Declan’s incredible positioning, along with his inert ability of playing precise long balls, is something West Ham have benefitted from in the past, and can very well try the same against Chelsea.
