Following two consecutive victories at home, Giallorossi travel to Cremonese on Tuesday to play them at Stadio Giovanni Zini

With last week's 2-2 draw with Torino, which saw them come from behind due to goals from Frank Tsadjout and Emanuele Valeri before giving up an equaliser in the 79th minute, Cremonese have now tied Ancona for the longest winless streak in Serie A history at 30 games.

That dismal run dates back to when they last made it to the first flight, which was more than 20 years ago, but if anything, their league woes have been worse since the beginning of 2023.

Ola Solbakken's first goal for the team, scored on the verge of halftime, helped Roma edge out a victory over struggling Serie A team Hellas Verona. Roma had taken care of business against Hellas Verona, once again maintaining a clean sheet.

Only Barcelona and Real Sociedad have amassed more victories by a 1-0 score in Europe's top five divisions since the beginning of last season. They have now won 11 league games under Mourinho, including one in the rematch against Cremonese in August.

Kick-off:

Players to watch

Cremonese: Okereke

Despite the club's dismal performance in recent games, Okereke has continued to score goals for Cremonese. He will be in the spotlight when he plays AS Roma.

AS Roma: Paulo Dybala

Paulo Dybala has developed into one of the brightest players since joining AS Roma, and while he is not one of Jose Mourinho's top players, his performance now determines the outcome for Roma.

Match facts

  • After 14 losses and 9 draws, Cremonese has yet to win in Serie A this season, matching the longest winless streak in league history.
  • In their last ten league games, Roma have only lost once while winning five.

Head-to-head stats

Matches: 16

Cremonese: 3

Draws: 2

AS Roma: 11

Injuries and team news

Defence needs at least one switch, with Marash Kumbulla available to fill in for Chris Smalling, who is out due to suspension. Paulo Dybala may arrive so that he can recuperate before facing his previous team, Stephan El Shaarawy. While Cremonese's Davide Ballardini won't be as bothered by Vlad Chiriches' ongoing absence as much now that Johan Vasquez, the Grigiorossi's lone injury concern, is back from suspension and most likely will slot back into defence.

Predicted lineup

Cremonese predicted lineup (3-5-2):

Carnesecchi; Ferrari, Bianchetti, Vasquez; Sernicola, Benassi, Pickel, Meite, Valeri; Tsadjout, Okereke

AS Roma predicted lineup (3-4-2-1):

Patricio; Mancini, Kumbulla, Ibanez; Karsdorp, Wijnaldum, Cristante, Zalewski; Pellegrini, Dybala; Abraham

Prediction

Roma won't likely experience the same fate again in the middle of the week, despite falling victim to Cremonese's giant-killing cup run earlier this month. The visitors will extend the length of time that the hosts have been without a league victory due to their wealth of attacking potential and iron defensive determination under Mourinho.

Prediction: Cremonese 0-2 AS Roma
