Hugo Boumous (36’) and Dimitri Petratos (58’) got among the goals to help the Mariners book a double-legged clash with Hyderabad FC in the next round.
Here are the Player Ratings for the game.
ATK Mohun Bagan (by Uttiyo Sarkar)
Vishal Kaith – 6.0
The ATKMB no.1 was very sharp in the goal and dealt well with crosses. Suffered a scary injury around the hour mark and had to go off as a protocol.
Asish Rai – 6.5
Did a good job in keeping the dangerous Nandhakumar Sekar quiet and didn’t let him cause major trouble. Made some nice forward runs and linked up nicely with Manvir Singh. He also creating a big chance.
Pritam Kotal – 7.0
Kotal was caused a lot of trouble by Diego Mauricio’s movement early on, but started reading his game better as the game went on. Registered a few key challenges to avert trouble, making six clearances and three blocks.
Slavko Damjanovic – 7.5
Damjanovic was clearly confident after the last game and maintained a strong defensive line. Popped into some key areas to make some crucial last-ditch challenges – making three clearances and two blocks.
Subhasish Bose – 6.5
While his passing was really poor, Subashish made up with his defensive abilities. Was sturdy at the back, making four interceptions, three blocks and two clearances.
Puitea – 6.5
Puitea was energetic in midfield and put in a lot of work to help his side sustain pressure. Made three clearances and two interceptions – while also passing the ball around nicely. Tested the keeper with a thunderous effort in the second half.
Carl McHugh – 8.5
The Irishman brilliantly outwitted his opposition midfielders and was highly effective with his committed challenges. Made five interceptions and three tackles – which included brilliant winning of the ball and assisting Petratos’ strike.
Manvir Singh – 7.5
Manvir set up the opener with an exquisite piece of skill, brilliantly flicking Petratos’ corner for Hugo Boumous’ strike. He tormented defenders with his bursting runs, linked up some nice moves and worked hard defensively in a really solid outing.
Hugo Boumous – 7.0
Boumous was eventful in the ATK Mohun Bagan final third, often slotting into dangerous areas to trouble the opposition players. Helped in astute progression of the ball forward and showcased impressive awareness to score the opener.
Ashique Kuruniyan – N/A
Was taken off in the first 10 minutes after picking up a unfortunate injury due to a challenge with Odisha FC's Raynier Fernandes.
Dimitri Petratos – 8.5
Petratos again proved himself as the decisive factor in ATK Mohun Bagan’s frontline. Produced a Trent Alexander-Arnold-esque 'corner taken quickly’ to fool the Odisha FC team and help set up the opener. In the second half, he produced a stellar finish for his goal. Was at the root of almost every single one of ATKMB’s dangerous attacks and created chaos with his set-piece delivery too!
Substitutes
Liston Colaco – 5.0
Liston is visibly low on confidence. He got himself into some prime areas, but fluffed his lines at the last moment. Another sloppy outing for the winger.
Arsh Anwer – 6.5
Replaced the injured Kaith and did well to preserve his clean sheet till the end.
Federico Gallego – 6.5
Helped ATK Mohun Bagan move the ball forward towards the end and had a big chance to score, but saw his goal-bound shot cleared off the line in added time.
Lalrinliana Hnamte – N/R
Had little impact in the final few minutes, but looked sharp nonetheless.
Odisha FC Ratings (by Keshava Verma)
Amrinder Singh - 8
Amrinder was absolutely fabulous in between the sticks. The veteran made a number of staggering saves, and covered up for Odisha FC’s poor defensive performance on the night.
Shubham Sarangi - 6
The right-back was decent with his defensive contribution in the first half, but was extremely poor in the second, and was very much off-colour for such an important fixture. He was subbed off in the 55th minute of the game.
Thoiba Singh – 6.5
Thoiba made five clearances, and also won a decent amount of duels. The makeshift centre-back did a good job with his accurate long balls as well.
Carlos Delgado - 6
Carlos started the game well, and looked pretty solid at the back. But the player somewhat succumbed to ATK Mohun Bagan’s constant pressure, and failed to stamp his authority on the home team’s star-studded attack.
Sahil Panwar – 6.5
Sahil Panwar had a decent game, and did well to keep an off-colour Liston at bay for the major part of the game. His poor marking though played a major role in the Mariners' opener.
Jerry Mawihmingthanga – 6.5
Jerry made some crucial contributions on both the offensive as well as the defensive thirds. The player missed some crucial chances in front of the goal though.
Raynier Fernandes – 6.5
Raynier put in a decent shift in the middle of the park, but was poor with keeping possession, as he lost it on seven occasions.
Saul Crespo - 7
Saul did well at the heart of the midfield, and played quite a number of accurate long balls into the path of Mauricio. The Spaniard also made two interceptions and three tackles.
Nandhakumar Sekar – 6.5
Nandha failed to make his mark in the game, and had only 37 touches in about 80 minutes of play. The player’s attacking contribution was also off the scale.
Victor Rodriguez - 8
Victor was arguably Odisha FC’s best player on the pitch today. His contributions both as a playmaker as well as a number nine were immaculate. The Spaniard played a staggering six key passes throughout the length of the game.
Diego Mauricio – 7.5
Mauricio put in another great performance for his team, and paired up with Victor really well and created some of Odisha’s best chances.
Substitutes
Denechandra Meitei – 6.5
Denechandra provided the much needed stability in the left-back position, and somewhat did well to soak up the constant pressure from ATK Mohun Bagan’s attack. The player also made a great goal-line clearance.
Issac Vanmalsawma - 6
Issac played four accurate long balls in 34 minutes of play-time, and really opened up the play.
Aniket Jadhav – 6.5
Aniket failed to make an impact in the game, but was still accurate with his passing. He made two successful tackles. The winger also played a pretty decent cross into the path of Mauricio, and truly presented a great opportunity.
Pedro Martin – 5.5
Pedro only had two touches in about 20 minutes of play, and did not contribute to Odisha FC’s play in any manner.
Narender Gahlot – 6.5
Gahlot came on in the 80th minute of the game, and had a total of 12 touches. Other than that, his presence had no real significance.
