The event is the news of the hour, and has been subjected to mixed opinions from the entire nation.
Not a single soul could have even predicted what we have witnessed in the game that was played between Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters. The game that was so highly anticipated by fans all around the subcontinent, had a pretty bitter end to it, as we saw one of the most unprofessional and dramatical situations arise.
It all started with a free-kick being awarded to Bengaluru in extra time. As the Kerala Blasters players were preparing to face this free-kick, the referee gave Bengaluru the go-ahead to take the kick. Taking the advantage of the situation, Sunil Chhetri wasted no time, and chipped the ball into the goal giving Prabhsukhan Gill no chance whatsoever.
The Kerala Blasters contingent surrounded the referee and plead their case. But Crystal John's disregard to these protests made things worse, and finally Kerala Blasters’ head coach Ivan Vukomanović order his players to play no further, and leave the pitch. As a result of this, the Yellow Army left the field, and ultimately Bengaluru were declared as the winners of the game.
Following this huge controversy and the sheer drama that ensued, fans and various personalities took it to Social-Media, to place their opinions, on the never-seen-before situation. Here are some of the noted reactions.
Parth Jindal
The CEO of Bengaluru FC, Mr. Parth Jindal didn’t hold back from expressing his vivid dismay with the reaction and attitude of Kerala Blasters.
Anant Tyagi

Former Kerala Blasters’ players
Juande Prados
Former Kerala Blasters attacker Juande Prados posted this comment on Instagram, replying to a fan who was on Bengaluru’s half of the debate.
“I respect your opinion, but I do not share it. I think your legend can do what he wants. In any league after 20 seconds until they organize the wall and the referee whistles, it doesn't start again. Do you think that A.Luna is going to get out of the way if he thinks that the goal can be legal? I don't believe it.”
Iain Hume
Kerala Blasters legend Iain Hume made this statement, and said that he thinks it wasn’t right on the team's behalf, to walk off the field in such a manner.
Arunava Chaudhari
Sports Journalist, Arunava Chaudhari, who holds keen interest in Indian Football, presented actual facts to back his opinion regarding the situation.
Floyd Pinto
The assistant coach of NorthEast United FC also placed his views, and backed the Blues.
Rostyn Griffiths
Griffiths, who plays for Mumbai City in the ISL also shared his thoughts on the issue.
Joel Chianese
Hyderabad FC attacker Joel Chianese shared his views as well.
It will be interesting to see what awaits for Kerala Blasters in the future.
