Top five managers who can replace Christophe Galtier at PSG
The Parisians' form has dropped in recent months
Four consecutive poor performances have made Christopher Galtier’s job at risk as Paris Saint-Germain. Christopher Galtier as a manager could not impress PSG's top bosses despite having good stats. One loss after another always brought up a question mark in his job as a PSG manager. In the last 4 games, PSG have lost 3 and somehow managed to win over Lille. Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in injury time made Galtier celebrate their goals with them. Despite the win against Lille, Galtier will be paying the price for a loss against their arch-rival in the league Marseille in French Cup earlier this month. Club bosses are in talks with multiple open free-agent managers to replace Galtier.
Paris Saint Germain is currently positioned at Number one with 57 points, yet they have been knocked out from French Cup and are on the verge of being knocked out from the UEFA Champions League. These two setbacks have made PSG Bosses frustrated. Reportedly PSG President is in talks with their much celebrated manager Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel was also looking for entry in England with Chelsea. In the current setup Thomas Tuchel is among the top contender to replace Galtier. Other than Tuchel there are few other names doing the rounds. Let's have a look at a few names that can become the new star manager in Paris.
5. Steven Gerrard (England)
Former Aston Villa manager and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is one of the top contenders to get the job in Paris. Liverpool legend Steve Gerrard is a free agent and lost his job at Aston Villa last year in October 2022. His record as Aston Villa manager look pretty average but Gerrard’s game sense is something PSG management is banking on. PSG may become Gerrard’s another chance to prove himself as a manager.
4. Jose Mourinho (Portugal)
Known for his own unique style and talk, Jose Mourinho is another option Paris Saint Germain might look at. Jose Mourinho is considered to be a man who delivers on big stage. Mourinho’s style of coaching is something that PSG looking for. He is currently associated with AS Roma, his biggest testimony is winning the Champions League trophy with Porto. It will be interesting to watch him alongside his old rival Lionel Messi. Mourinho was associated with Real Madrid when Messi was playing for Barca.
3. Zinedine Zidane (France)
French legend Zinedine Zidane is looking for club since he was sacked from Real Madrid in 2021. Zidane other than his game play has also proved himself as a manager with Real Madrid. His role in Madrid's success was widely appreciated. With Galtier being ousted from his post, PSG might also appoint former France captain and a Word Cup winning legend Zinedine Zidane for the job.
2. Antonio Conte (Italy)
Antonio Conte is currently working with Tottenham Hotspur, yet he was reportedly in talks with Paris Saint Germain after the exit of Mauricio two years back. Conte might be another good option as a manager who is well suited for current PSG setup. Conte had mixed share of success and failure as a Tottenham manager. Before that he was associated with giants like Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan.
1. Thomas Tuchel (Germany)
As per the media reports PSG still regrets the decision to sack Thomas Tuchel in 2020. Tuchel has been magnificent as a manager not only for PSG but also changed the fortune of Chelsea when he started working with the club. Tuchel got real chances to become next PSG manager and talks are on about the future deal. Tuchel’s presence with big names in the club can prove a difference between other team and PSG.
