The Red Devils are in the hunt for a new number 9

A new star striker is clearly needed at Old Trafford. The prior must be a significant investment into a new marquee striker, Wout Weghorst is a makeshift who is unlikely to be signed permanently going into the upcoming season.

The shortlist for Manchester United's strikers includes Goncalo Ramos, Mohamed Ali, and Victor Osimhen. Harry Kane, though, is the most secure wager available. With his next goal for Spurs, the Tottenham striker will surpass all other scorers in the club's scoring history and move a step closer to breaking the Premier League goal record. The top five strikers that United should recruit in the summer are listed below.

5. Jonathan David

Jonathan David, a forward for Lille, has stated that he wants to play in the Premier League once more and that a move to England is "quite probable" in the nearish term.

With their need for offensive ammunition, Manchester United have been mentioned in connection with the Canada international's transfer to England recently. David, who has nine goals in 16 games for Lille so far this season, acknowledged that the Premier League is the only place he can see himself playing in the future.

4. Evan Ferguson

Since emerging into the Brighton first squad, the 18-year-old Republic of Ireland international has established quite a reputation for himself. Erik Ten Hag was urged by several Manchester United supporters to assign him the number 9 jersey.

In terms of the Republic of Ireland, Ferguson is in great form right now. For the next international friendly versus Latvia and the impending Euro 2024 qualifying match against France, manager Stephen Kenny has called him into the senior panel.

3. Goncalo Ramos

Ramos made a big impression for Portugal at the World Cup by scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland in the round of 16, and there are reportedly several suitors vying for his assets as a consequence. The striker has recorded 24 goals and 10 assists across all club competitions this season.

Given Cristiano Ronaldo's leaving and Weghorst's loan agreement expiring in the summer, United obviously needs a new long-term alternative forward striker. Ramos might become the next person to make history in the United frontline.

2. Victor Osimhen

The front-runners in the competition to recruit the prolific scorer at the beginning of the following season are Manchester United, along with rivals Manchester City, Chelsea, and PSG.

The Nigerian striker is having the finest Serie A campaign of his career as he leads his side, Napoli, to a decisive Scudetto victory. Osimhen is in outstanding form at the moment now with 19 goals and 4 assists in 23 league games. He is anticipated to increase that total in the remaining games of the season.

Manchester United already have a striker shortage this year, and the situation became somewhat more challenging following the departure of Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo. Although the likelihood of any difficulty in the goal-scoring area is now being masked by the heroics of homegrown star Marcus Rashford, coach Erik Ten Hag, who has guided The Reds to a revival this season, is conscious of his lack in his side.

1. Harry Kane

Old Trafford has long been rumoured as a destination for Harry Kane, but it seems more improbable that he would leave Tottenham this month. Kane may be available during the summertime. But it is another matter entirely whether Spurs can equal Kane's trophy-winning ambitions and goals. Kane has over 200 goals in the Premier League and United seem to be a great match for the English striker.

United seems to be the logical choice if Kane opts to pursue a move this summer. Yet Kane and United are aware that Levy will make the task extremely challenging, if not impossible. There must be a sacrifice made, but Daniel Levy won't be the one.
