I-League Second Division 2023: Teams which qualified for final round
Four group toppers and one second-placed team qualified for the final round.
The I-League Second Division is the second tier of Indian professional football. The 2022-23 season saw 20 teams participating, including six Indian Super League reserves sides, divided into four groups of five teams each, where each team plays each other twice in a home and away format.
Each group winner along with one best runner-up (second-placed team) qualify for the final round and compete for two promotion spots to the I-League. After a gruelling preliminary round, five teams qualified for the final round.

Delhi FC
Delhi FC have shown some remarkable performance throughout the league and have emerged as one of the strongest contenders for the title. They topped the group A in the preliminary round of the I-League Second Division, winning five matches out of eight, scoring 20 goals and conceding just five. They are a strong team with experienced players and will be looking to secure their promotion to the I-League.
United SC
United Sports Club topped Group B in the preliminary round of the I-League Second Division, winning four matches and drawing two. They have a solid defence and an attacking force to reckon with.
FC Bengaluru United
FC Bengaluru United were a consistent team in the league, winning five out of eight matches that helped them secure the first place in Group C. The entire contingent played exceptionally well in these games and hopefully, they'll have more such outings in the final rounds.
Ambernath United Atlanta FC
Ambernath United Atlanta Football Club is one of the youngest professional clubs in India. They have been a surprise package and showcased great potential in their matches. They finished at the top of Group D in the preliminary round of the I-League Second Division, winning five matches and drawing two. They are a team known for their never-say-die attitude and will be looking forward to secure their promotion to the I-League.
Shilong Lajong FC
Shillong Lajong FC have been able to clinch their place in the final rounds by putting in their best performance. Lajong finished second in the Group B in the preliminary round of the I-League Second Division, winning four matches and drawing one. They are a team that has a good mix of youth and experience.
In conclusion, the final round of the I-League Second Division promises to be an exciting affair with some of India’s top football clubs vying for two promotion spots to the I-League. The five teams that have qualified for the final round have shown their mettle in the preliminary round and will be looking to carry their form into the final round. It remains to be seen which two teams will emerge as I-League Second Division champions and progress to the I-League.
