The 25-year-old has signed an extension for two years with the club.

ISL 9 (Indian Super League) finalists Bengaluru FC have extended the contract of 25-year-old Rohit Kumar for two more years, the club announced on their official social media handle. The Delhi-born footballer will ply his trade for Bengaluru FC until the 2024-25 season.

“The love and support I’ve received since I joined Bengaluru FC has been immense, and I’m really happy to sign for two more years here. I strongly believe that this is the best place for me to grow, both as a player and a person, and that made the decision to sign on an easy one. The belief shown by the coaches, management and my teammates has helped me develop, and I’m looking forward to many more special moments in front of our fantastic supporters,” said Rohit after the completion of the deal.

Durand Cup

Rohit was part of the Blues’ victorious 2022 Durand Cup squad and enjoyed a breakout campaign this term. Scoring three times across 19 ISL appearances, Rohit played a crucial role in Bengaluru’s run to the Indian Super League final. For his performances, the midfielder received a maiden call-up to the Senior Indian National Team and made his debut against Kyrgyz Republic in India’s victorious Tri-Nation Cup campaign. He has played 36 matches overall for Bengaluru FC starting in the 2021 season.

Rohit Kumar will now be part of the Blues squad for the 2023 Super Cup campaign in Kozhikode, with their opening clash scheduled to take place on April 8th.

The midfielder previously was part of several ISL clubs (Kerala Blasters FC, Hyderabad FC, Pune City FC, and DSK Shivajians). His switch to Bengaluru FC was a fruitful one as he couldnt amass enough game time in his previous two stints with Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC.
