Ritwik Das set to sign multi-year extension with Jamshedpur FC
Ritwik Das is Jamshedpur FC's top Indian goal-scorer this season.
26-year-old winger Ritwik Das is set to sign a multi-year extension with Jamshedpur FC, Khel Now can confirm. Ritwik, who joined the Red Miners from Kerala Blasters FC in 2021, will be part of the club for a few more seasons. A source tracking the development informed Khel Now, "Ritwik Das is all set to sign a multi-year extension with Jamshedpur FC."
After a not-so-decent season, Ritwik Das' signing comes as a great motivation for the club. He has been one of their most impactful players in the past season.
Ritwik Das' career so far
Ritwik Das kickstarted his professional football career at Calcutta Customs in the CFL First Division. After playing for two successive seasons in the CFL, Ritwik made a shift to I-League outfit Real Kashmir FC. He was a highly-rated winger at the club, scoring four goals in 34 matches. After three impactful seasons with Real Kashmir, ISL side Kerala Blasters roped in the winger for season 7.
He made his debut in the season opener against giants ATK Mohun Bagan and went on to play four matches in the season. He did not get enough gametime to prove himself and left the club at the end of the season. Jamshedpur FC ahead of season 8, signed the winger on a one-year contract, with an option to extend for another year (based on the performance). The player scored his first ISL goal against Mumbai City FC and netted the ball home four times in 17 matches.
Jamshedpur FC, after winning the ISL Shield in 2021, finished in the penultimate spot last season. Ritwik Das was one of the bright spots and was the highest Indian goal-scorer for the club (six goals in 18 matches). He was recalled to the Indian national team after almost a year and made his debut as a substitute against Myanmar in the Tri-Nation Friendly Tournament (featuring India, Myanmar and Krygyz Republic).
Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Super Cup 2023
Jamshedpur FC have made an excellent start to the Hero Super Cup 2023 campaign, winning all the three group matches. They topped their group and are set to take on Bengaluru FC in the semi-finals on 21st April.
