Type of Player
He is an advanced playmaker, a player of a small frame who doesn’t feel comfortable in contact situations. With excellent technical ability, 1vs1 short-dribbling skills, close ball control, and fast direction shift in possession. He likes to be fielded in a free role as an attacking midfielder, where he is given creative freedom and space to roam the pitch, a midfielder who sees the game differently from most revealing creativity, cleverness at his off-the-ball movements, great vision, and passing ability linking up the team’s midfield and attack with ease and effectiveness.
He is a fast, agile, dynamic and mobile player, a very vertical player who likes to have the ball at his feet and speed up the game with his progressive runs and passes, and excellent in combination play. He has great footwork and retention skills under pressure.
Despite being so young, Echeverri has already proven that he could be a future superstar. Playing as a forward, he is something that has scored goals, but also provides for his teammate, in a typical Lionel Messi-esque way.
