Top five defenders with best tackle success rate since 2017-18 season

These footballers rerely miss while going into a tackle
We have seen several elite fullbacks or centre-backs, and we're confident you have a notion of how defences function to stop rivals from scoring goals.
It's a challenging aspect of the pitch to evaluate, though. While some defenders may not be the finest players but are shielded by their side's shape, others may not be as good as they appear to be and are merely playing in a challenging system.
We've examined the greatest currently available, and we've established a hierarchy. Here are the top five defenders with best tackle success rate since 2017-18 (100+ attempts):
5. 75.1% - William Saliba

One to pique Arsenal supporters' interests. One just needs to recall the erratic, error-prone duo of Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz to recognise the centre-back position as the Gunners' Achilles heel in the past. Ben White and Gabriel and Mikel Arteta appear to have created harmony, but Saliba's return in the summer strengthened Arsenal's defence, and now you can see them stumbling in defence absent the French defender.
4. 75.1% - Pierre Kalulu
Normal operation is resumed with a Milanese guard rating highly among "clean" tacklers. The 21-year-old Frenchman has served as the Rossoneri's defensive Swiss Army knife this season as Stefano Pioli's Scudetto dreamers presently sit atop Serie A. Pierre Kalulu can play either centre defender or either full-back depending on the situation. But he always brings his defensive skills with him anywhere he goes. Few people pass via Kalulu.
3. 75.9% - Ronald Araújo

Ronald Araujo, a centre-back for Barcelona, made a case for why he should be regarded as one of the top defenders in the world and the best in LaLiga right now.
The former Boston River player was there to make crucial clearances and end any threat whenever the Spain international appeared to have gained freedom. Since he came over as manager in November 2021 to replace Ronald Koeman, Araujo, according to his coach Xavi Hernandez, has made the biggest leap forward in terms of ball-handling skills.
2. 78.0% - Ethan Pinnock
The rapid ascent of Brentford through the English leagues and into the Premier League has been very amazing. Many interested observers were anticipating the Bees' performance in the Premier League and wondering if they would be able to compete with the best in the English top division.
It's hard to imagine that he was playing non-league football at Dulwich Hamlet six years earlier.
1. 78.6% - Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Unquestionably, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been an exciting addition to Erik Ten Hag's team. Although his defensive skills have been top-notch, his attacking skills have been stupendous so far this season. Wan-Bissaka, who has been in outstanding form lately, was crucial in helping Manchester United win four of their past five games in the Premier League to move up to the third place and go to the FA Cup finals.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has the best true tackle success rate:
- 571 attempted
- 449 tackles made
- 66 fouls
- 56 x dribbled past
