The quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League kick off next week

After defeating Paris Saint-German in both legs in the Round of 16 in the Champions League, Bayern Munich are going into the quarters with a different level of confidence. Bayern Munich will be playing their first Champions League match under Tuchel after their former manager Julian Nagelsmann was sacked back in March. It will be quite interesting to watch both Pep Guardiola and Thomas Tuchel go head to head again in the Champions League. The last time they faced each other was back in 2021 in the finals when Tuchel was the manager at Chelsea and managed to win the match by 1-0.

Player to watch

Manchester City: Erling Haaland

With ten goals already this season and five of them coming in the last match in Champions League, Erling Braut Haaland has been one of the best player for Manchester City this season. Always finding his ways of putting the ball behind the net, Erling has made sure that the supply of goal doesn’t stop for the blue side of Manchester. With 44 goals in all competitions already, he has been a force to reckon with. It would need something special for the current German champions to stop him.

Bayern Munich: Joshua Kimmich

A ball playing midfielder, providing key passes and also making important interceptions time to time, Kimmich can set the tempo of the game for Bayern at an early stage. Controlling the midfield and also stopping in behind runs by opposition players, he has proven to be a very important player for Bayern. He has also made three assist for the team in Champions League this season and has the

Defender Lucas Hernandez is also out of the squad because of a ligament rupture at the knee, along with 17 year old Mathys Tel will also be ruled out because of torn muscles. Match Prediction

With an advantage of the home crowd and such a form in recent competition, Manchester City will go into the match with a sheer determination of winning it and putting them in an advantage. With Haaland leading the attack supported by De Bruyne and company, it will be a difficult task for the Bayern defence to keep the Norwegian out of his scoring range.

Bayern on the other side looks like hasn’t been adapted to the style of play under Tuchel and there might be gaps that Tuchel needs to work on before the match. But the German side has always been a force in this competition has always found their way out of difficult games in the past. It will be an intense match up and it will be a difficult decision to make on who will be having an advantage.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-2 Bayern Munich
