The young midfielder has a lot of admirers across Europe

Following his unsuccessful sale to Arsenal during the 2017 January transfer window, Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo has said that he aspires to play for Real Madrid.

Caicedo nearly signed with Arsenal during the winter transfer window, but Brighton turned down both of the Gunners' offers to recruit the 21-year-old Ecuadorian.

With Brighton & Hove Albion in this upcoming campaign, the Ecuadorian midfielder has attracted the attention of many and is already drawing interest ahead of the summer.

For the Seagulls, Caicedo has made 33 appearances across multiple contests, making one goal and assisting on another. The 22-year-old remains associated with a transfer elsewhere from Amex this year after signing a new agreement earlier this year.

The La Liga powerhouses may be searching for a new midfielder this summer due to lingering questions about Luka Modric's future.

This month, Sky Sports said that Liverpool was interested in bringing Caicedo to join Anfield at the conclusion of the campaign.

According to reports, the Premier League team has identified the kid as a potential replacement for England international and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Caicedo has not been identified as a player on Madrid's list of objectives for the summer transfer season, according to MundoDeportivo.

In an interview with Cadena SER, Caicedo has now disclosed that he plans to sign with Real Madrid soon in order to compete in the Champions League:

"I like Real Madrid. It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid".

"I'm doing things very well now; so why not join Real Madrid one day and win the Champions League? It's my biggest dream", he added.
