Virgil van Dijk and Nemanja Vidic are arguably among the finest defenders to ever compete in the English Premier League. Throughout his eight-year tenure with Manchester United, Vidic was a titan.

Van Dijk was a standout at Southampton and has established himself as one of the top defenders in the world since joining Liverpool in 2018.

However, as per Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, Van Dijk has had a better career at Liverpool so far he said on Twitter: VVD is far better than Vidic, who was a top CB, but have you forgotten his performances against Torres?"

When a Man United supporter questioned Carragher's viewpoint. "If you or anyone thinks Vidic is better than VVD you’re not watching the same game! He’s miles better!!"

In accordance with Carragher's assessment, football pundit Statman Dave calculated each player's Premier League statistics.

Even if statistics aren't everything, they imply there shouldn't be any discussion over which of the two players is superior.
