The Premier League has seen a number of players of the highest calibre enter the league and establish themselves by prolifically scoring goals on a regular basis.

Elring Haaland, who has been ruthless in front of goal and shattered countless records, is a new name that has emerged throughout the years. Here are the top six players with the most goal contributions in a single Premier League campaign:

40 - Erling Haaland (22-23 season)

It was impossible to imagine Erling Haaland's Premier League first season going much better. There are still games left in the league, yet he has already shattered two records: the mark for the highest number of goals scored in only one season by a Premier League player (49), and the record for the most goals scored in a 38-game campaign for a PL campaign (33).

His next goal is to surpass Dixie Dean's 63-goal record for an English top-flight club in all contests within a season, which he set in 1927–1928 while playing for Everton. He only requires another strike to break Dean's record, and he may even go on to do so.

42 - Mohamed Salah (17-18)

The arrival of Mohamed Salah from Serie A team Roma in the summer of 2017 would have thrilled Liverpool supporters, but they wouldn't have anticipated a more impressive first campaign for the Egyptian striker.

In 36 games, Salah contributed to 42 goals, which is 10 more than any other player. Salah also won the 2017–18 Premier League Golden Boot with 32 goals.

43 - Luis Suárez (13-14)

Due to a suspension, Luis Suárez skipped the first five games of the 2013–14 season, although he recovered from missed opportunities when he joined the Liverpool squad. He participated in 43 goals altogether, more than any other player in 2013–14, while playing in all 33 of his team's games in the Premier League season that followed his suspension. What's more amazing is that none of his 31 goals were penalty kicks.

Suárez's record of 70 minutes per goal involvement in the 2013–14 Premier League campaign is the highest of any player who has played more than 2000 minutes in a league.

44 - Thierry Henry (02-03)

In the heritage of the Premier League, only a single player has ever had a season with at least 20 goals scored and at least 20 goals assisted. Thierry Henry, please.

The Arsenal forward enjoyed a remarkable season in 2002–03, scoring 24 goals and dishing out 20 assists. However, this wasn't enough to help the Gunners win the Premier League championship, as they were edged out by Manchester United by five points.

47 - Alan Shearer (94-95)

He earned the first of three consecutive Premier League Golden Boots with his 34 goals in the 1994–95 season. He was the initial of nine players to secure the Golden Boot and the Premier League championship with his team in the same season when Blackburn Rovers won the league.

It was his greatest-ever campaign for goal-creating since he had never recorded more than seven in any other campaign. His 13 assists were the third-most in the Premier League during 1994–1995, behind only Matt Le Tissier (15) and Darren Anderton (14), and it was also his best-ever season for assists.

47 - Andy Cole (93-94)

With 34 goals and 13 more assists during his first Premier League season in 1993–1994—two totals he was never able to match in a single top-flight season—Andrew Cole put up an exceptional performance.

Cole set a season-scoring record for the league in 1993–94 by tallying goals in 26 separate Premier League games for Newcastle.
