Barcelona look to be getting closer to bringing Lionel Messi back.

According to Gaston Edul, LaLiga are prepared to accept FC Barcelona's fiscal viability plan tomorrow, opening the door for the Catalan giants to re-sign Lionel Messi in the summer.

Barcelona devised an economic viability approach for the upcoming season and submitted it to the league for permission. Barcelona have been working diligently behind the scenes to remedy its Financial Fair Play predicament.

What Barca need to do to be within FFP regulations

It goes without saying that in order to achieve the FFP standards, the Catalan titans must lower their salary cost by at least €200 million while simultaneously producing new income.

The Blaugrana Football Club will need to generate a few important sales in order to accomplish its viability plan, and it has been previously stated that there is a strong belief inside the team that it will be capable to carry it out effectively.

As a result, LaLiga have officially approved Barcelona's economic viability plan, allowing them to move through with their plans for the next summer transfer window.

Dependent on Joan Laporta

Messi's return to Barça will entirely depend on president Joan Laporta and the team carrying out the plan after LaLiga gives the viability plan the all-clear so that they can provide the space necessary for bringing their former captain back.

Barcelona also plans to approach LaLiga for a formal statement confirming that Messi's return may happen without any complications in order to prevent a situation comparable to 2021, when the Argentina captain was forced to quit. This is in addition to getting approval for their viability plan.

Could we see this sight soon?

Barcelona's pursuit of the 2022 FIFA World Cup champion is expected to gather up speed once the go-ahead has been given. Before they may sign and activate new players, the club must approve some exits.
