Germany will face defending champions France in EURO U17 2023 final

Germany and France U17 will play in the Euro U17 2023 final, which will be a repeat of the 2015 edition that saw the latter win 4-1. Defending Champions France will be hoping to lift their fourth crown.

In the first semifinal match, Germany faced the youngsters from Poland. This was a very high-scoring game that ended 5-3 in favour of the Germans. The win took Germany to their 10th final in the Euro U17 competition. They have won the championship three times.

Poland U17 took the lead in the seventh minute of the game. The Germans equalised in the 22nd minute but conceded once again in the 31st. Poland led 2-1 in the first half.

Germany U17 levelled the score in the 56th minute and then took the lead in the 65th minute. Poland equalised in the 68th minute. German youngsters landed the final two blows in the 79th and 82nd minutes. The match ended 5-3 in their favour.

France U17 won their 3-1 against Spain U17 in the second semifinal match. The first half went goalless. Barclona's youngster Lamine Yamal scored in his fourth consecutive game to give Spain a 1-0 lead in the 69th minute.

Mathis Lambourde equalised in the 73rd minute and shifted the momentum towards the French side. A goal by Yanis Ali Issoufou in the 80th minute gave France a 2-1 lead. Tidiam Gomis sealed the match with a 90+1 minute goal and sent France to Euro U17 final.

France and Germany have faced each other in Group C. The Germans made a comeback and won the encounter 3-1.

Germany U17 have scored 16 goals in the Euro U17 2023 edition. Their robust defence has conceded five goals and kept two clean sheets. France U17, on the other hand, have scored nine goals and conceded six goals.

The final will be played in Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion in Hungary. Both teams have a chance to win their fourth Euro U17 championship.
