The nominees for the award are out

The 2022–23 Premier League season's closing weeks will feature a close championship race between reigning champion and current leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.

Both teams' players have made an impression during the season thanks to goals and game-winning performances that have propelled them into a championship battle.

But in addition to the competition on the pitch, players from both clubs will compete for individual honours, such as the Premier League Player of the Year Award, which will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Here we have ranked the top three favourites to win the Premier League Player of the Season award:

3. Kevin De Bruyne

Haaland's goals in 2022-23 have been nothing short of remarkable, and De Bruyne has mostly been responsible for setting up the Norwegian international as he attempts to break the Premier League Golden Boot record with Pep Guardiola's team.

Although City are currently in first place and have been magnificent for the Sky Blue, the Gunners' embarrassing performance slipped out to hold them at bay in the final stretch. He has also been the goal supplier and may potentially be among the candidates for Player of the Season.

2. Bukayo Saka

Saka, a darling of Arsenal supporters, is competing against Haaland despite having a stellar season with the Gunners. Saka was consistently available for Arsenal last season, appearing in all 34 Premier League games, and he is expected to have a similar season in 2022–2023.

The England international has improved significantly in recent months, establishing among the Premier League's deadliest wide strikers. His better experience is continuing to show through with significant goals.

1. Erling Haaland

The 22-year-old Erling Haaland has had a spectacular 2022–23 Premier League season, wreaking mayhem on defenders and scoring goals just for pleasure.

Erling Haaland has enjoyed the challenge despite the anticipation surrounding his transfer from Borussia Dortmund, and he may smash the Premier League goal record this year.

In the previous 42-game Premier League season structure, Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer both scored 34 Premier League goals for Newcastle United (1993–1994 and Blackburn Rovers (1994–1955), respectively, and the 22-year-old has already broken their record with 36 goals in 33 games in the league.
